Gaillard watches Luxury meets hospitality in Amsterdam. Rolex, Cartier, Patek & more. đŸ•°ïžâ˜• What is the passion for vintage watches all about?

The idea of Gaillard Watches was born from the unique concept of combining the passion for Watches and Hospitality. We believe that the best way to provide exceptional hospitality and an outstanding experience is by creating a safe and luxurious environment for our guests. Over the past few years, we have created the opportunity to acquire as much knowledge as possible about watches. During this e

xperience we are happy to exchange the accomplishment about all the timeless pieces in our shop. While we prioritize the hospitality aspect, it was crucial for us to have a physical store where we can personally welcome and engage with our clients, providing them with our knowledge and gain their trust by offering honest products. Our store is designed to feel like a luxurious living room, ensuring that you feel at home while enjoying the opportunity to explore and appreciate our carefully curated collection of watches. Vintage-style watches are often associated with iconic watch brands that have a rich history and legacy. The pieces are passed down from one generation to another, built to last which makes them valuable and a good investment for the future. Our main focus is to offer you the finest watches available in the market, with a price range mainly ranging from €3K to €20K. Within this range, we are specialized in vintage- and rare watches from prestigious brands such as Rolex, Cartier, and Patek Philippe. However, we are also committed to searching for other exceptional timepieces from well-known brands in the market. A special thanks to the support and trust of Jasper Lijfering, the owner of Amsterdam Vintage Watches, since we got the possibility by taking over the prestigious shop located at Singel 414 in the heart of Amsterdam.

Audemars Piguet Ellipse Ref. 5379BC

Audemars Piguet is known for combining strong design with high level watchmaking. While the Royal Oak is the most well known, pieces like this Ellipse show another side of the brand.

This reference 5379BC is crafted in 18K white gold and features a 33mm case with a bark finish. The same finish continues on the integrated bracelet, giving the watch a very distinct look. The dark grey dial is clean and easy to read, with straight markers and a date window at three o’clock.

Inside is the calibre 2121, the same movement used in the first Royal Oak reference 5402.

A great option for someone looking for something different, with a strong link to one of AP’s most important movements.

Breguet Classique Réveil du Tsar Ref. 5707

Breguet is one of the oldest names in watchmaking, founded in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet. The Réveil du Tsar takes its name from Tsar Alexander I, who had a strong connection with the brand.

This example in 18K white gold shows what Breguet is known for. The case features the classic coin edge finish, while the dial is fully hand engraved with different guilloché patterns. Each dial takes hours to complete and requires a high level of precision.

Inside is the automatic calibre 519, displaying the time, date, second time zone, power reserve and an alarm function. Through the case back you can see the finishing on the movement, from the decorated rotor to the detailed bridges and main plate.

A watch for someone who appreciates craftsmanship and detail.

Rolex Submariner Ref. 16610

A Submariner is always a good addition to the collection. The reference 16610 sits right between vintage and modern, combining a sapphire crystal and glossy dial with the aluminium bezel that many collectors prefer.

The design goes back to the 1950s when Rolex introduced the Submariner as a tool watch for diving. Over time it became one of the most recognised watches in the world. The date function was added later, and this reference carries that feature in a clean and practical way.

This example from 2007 is fitted with a 40mm Oyster case and bracelet in 904L stainless steel. Strong, reliable and easy to wear every day.

Comes with papers.

Audemars Piguet Canapé Ref. 14934BA

Canapé means sofa in French, and once you see the shape, it all makes sense. Audemars Piguet is known for bold designs, and this is a great example of something different from the usual.

The design takes inspiration from the Art Deco period, with strong lines and geometric shapes that give it a 1920s and 1930s feel, even though this piece is from the 1990s.

This example is crafted in 18K yellow gold. The rounded lugs and curved crystal work nicely with the case shape, while the silver dial is balanced with an off centre seconds at 6 o’clock. The applied gold markers and hands keep the look clean and classic.

Fitted on a black leather strap with an Audemars Piguet buckle and powered by a hand wound movement.

A piece that stands out without trying too hard.

Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 1675/3 Root Beer Ni**le Dial

The GMT-Master was introduced in the 1950s for pilots, allowing them to track a second time zone by rotating the bezel. Over the years, the reference 1675 brought many interesting variations, and this is one of them.

This example from 1975 stands out with its two tone configuration and warm brown dial. Unlike most GMT-Masters from this period, this one features applied hour markers, often referred to by collectors as a ni**le dial. The brown tones of the dial and bezel give the watch a strong 1970s look.

The watch is fitted on a matching two tone Jubilee bracelet with Gay FrĂšres style clasp, completing the overall look.

Omega Speedmaster Ref. 3590

In 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon wearing an Omega Speedmaster. Since then, the Speedmaster has become closely linked to one of mankind’s greatest achievements.

This example from 1994 is the reference 3590, powered by the hand wound chronograph calibre 861. It keeps the look and feel of the early models, with the well known case back engraving. The tritium on the dial and hands has aged to a warm yellow tone, adding character to the watch.

A Speedmaster with history that still feels right on the wrist today.

Comes with the original card.

Patek Philippe Ellipse Ref. 3848 Ivory Dial

Patek Philippe is one of the most respected watchmakers in the world. Founded in 1839, the brand has created many well known models such as the Nautilus, Aquanaut and Calatrava. In 1968 the Ellipse was introduced, adding a distinctive dress watch to the collection. The shape of the case follows the Golden Ratio, a proportion often used in art and design for its natural balance.

This mid size Ellipse is crafted in 18K yellow gold and fitted with its integrated bracelet. The ivory dial gives the watch a warm and calm appearance, displaying only the time which keeps the design clean and balanced. Inside is a hand wound movement, allowing the case to remain slim on the wrist.

Rolex Datejust Ref. 16013 Two Tone

We always enjoy offering a Datejust. In our opinion it is one of the most versatile watches ever made. Since its introduction in 1945 the model has appeared in many different configurations, which is exactly what keeps the Datejust interesting for collectors.

Here we have the reference 16013 in stainless steel and 18K yellow gold. The two tone configuration gives the watch a balanced look and works well for everyday wear.

This reference is the first Datejust to feature the quick set date while still keeping the plexi crystal that many collectors appreciate.

The watch is fitted on a Jubilee bracelet and remains in very good condition.
