Katja's Glass Art

Katja's Glass Art Glass jewellery, ornaments, plates etc. Every piece is unique and handmade by myself. I started glass fusing at the end of 2010.

I have a small kiln that is perfect for jewellery, but also works for small plates, tealight candle holders etc. In autumn 2012 I attended a fusing workshop with Tanya Veit, which gave me tons of new ideas and brought my art to a new level. All my products are unique, no mass production here! If you are interested in buying something, please contact me for shipping costs etc. If you like the style of my work, but can't find exactly what you want, feel free to discuss your ideas with me!

After a very very long break, I finally got back to the glass workshop and made some pendants again. These four are now finished with bails, and three of them are for sale (I haven't set the prices yet, but you can contact me if you are interested). The wire-wrapped one is not for sale because the quality of my wire-wrapping just isn't good enough yet. I have other plans for the rest of the summer, but I hope I'll be able to do some more glasswork this autumn. Hopefully I'll also continue to practise my wire-wrapping.

I haven't done any glass work in a long time, being busy with other things. But I made two pairs of ear studs yesterday, using glass dots I have had lying around for ages (made from leftovers from a bigger project). NOK 50 per pair. I have more dots (all in similar colours), so I could make some more if there is interest.

You may remember these pendants from a long time ago, but until now, they didn't have bails. I am trying out a new glue, and it seems promising so far. Gluing glass to metal is a tricky business.

In October 2020, I took an online class called "The Quality of The Line" with the wonderful glass artist Bob Leatherbarrow. I started some projects during the class, but then things got in the way, and somehow I ended up not doing any glass work for more than half a year, and the projects stayed unfinished. Until now! Yesterday I got this little (8 cm x 8 cm) dish into the kiln for slumping, and here it is, completely finished!
