Handmade Blue Pearl jewellery on Akaroa Wharf. www.nzbluepearls.co.nz My name is Jack Pawlowski. I am a European-trained Master Jeweller with 43 years experience.

I am the founder of The Blue Pearl Gallery in Akaroa. During my varied career, I have worked as a teacher at a jewellery high school in Poland and as a designer for the largest jewellery company in Europe—Pierre Lang—in Vienna, Austria. I have lived in New Zealand since 1986 and pursued my jewellery passion by opening my first boutique store and workshop not long after arriving in this beautiful country with my wife and two daughters. In 2000, I met Roger Beattie, the force behind Eyris® Blue Pearls. We work closely with the team at Eyris who source and provide us with some of the world’s best Blue Pearls. We set these in our own custom-designed pieces and our extensive range is exhibited in our Blue Pearl Gallery on the Main Wharf in Akaroa. Some of the highlights of my career include:

*Our team was called upon to create a unique Eyris® Blue Pearl brooch for Queen Elizabeth. The New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, presented it to her in September, 2013. To our honour, the Queen has since worn it.

*The creation of Kiwi songstress Hayley Westenra’s dazzling one-carat white and argyle diamond platinum engagement ring in 2012.

*A commission for a small amber-and-white gold ice pick gifted to Sir Edmund Hillary in 2004 on his trip to Europe.

*The creation of an Eyris® Blue Pearl earring and pendant set for Miss World 2003 who modelled it for “Variety—The Children’s Charity” auction.

Reusing and upcycling! 🔨

Our new space is being built from everything we already had.

Relocating from the Main Wharf to this much smaller, 'la petite' space is an exercise in repurposing everything old ❤️

Cabinets and bits of wood are being brought back to life to create this new, warm and inviting space.

Luckily, Dad, our Master Jeweller, is just as handy behind the workbench as he is with his tools!

If only our cabinets could talk - moving from Christchurch to Akaroa and now to the waterfront - what a story they could tell!

Located right beside Akaroa Pharmacy and across the waterfront from Drummonds Jetty, will be our 'home-away-from-home', while the Main Wharf in Akaroa continues to be rebuilt.

We feel really lucky and grateful for this wonderful new space and look forward to welcoming you once everything is moved, prepped and ready 🤗
