A pinch-me moment!

"Makers Market 3.0 marks the next evolution of our bi-annual platform celebrating independent and emerging creatives with a distinct contemporary voice.

This curated weekend brings together a considered selection of makers working across art, object, fashion, and material culture. Each has been chosen for their originality, craftsmanship, and commitment to intentional production."

To be included in the company of designers at this very special event is the biggest compliment and validation. Thank you Makers Market and Good Form πŸ™

Today's finished project is a rather special brutalist bangle which will be for sale at next weekend's Makers Market.

This piece was made from silver recycled from scrap from my last several years of making. It was melted and made into an ingot, forged for strength, then rolled into a square bar and shaped into this satisfyingly heavy piece.

The fact that it fits a larger wrist is nothing to do with my desire to keep it should it not sell....

A deceptive amount of work goes into producing these little beads.

Each contains traces of sand and goes through a process of casting, sawing, filing, sanding and drilling before finally being polished ready to set and be worn as a tangible memory.

See the finished results in person at the Makers Market edition #3 next month.
