A huge thank you to everyone for your patience while our shop has been closed a little longer than expected. We’ve been so grateful for all the messages checking in and asking when we’ll be back open. 🤍
The good news? The development company will soon be sealing the road, which means you won’t need an off-road vehicle to come and visit us anymore! 🎉🚗
We know it’s been a bit of an adventure getting here lately, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait. We’ll keep you posted on our grand reopening — and we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

What started with a few handcrafted equestrian pieces a few years ago has grown into something we never could have imagined. 🐴✨
Over the years, we’ve been honoured to support local clubs, sponsor events, and even create NZ-made gifts for international judges

And this week, our newest addition joins the collection — this sparkling diamante horseshoe necklace. A little bit of equestrian charm with a touch of sparkle. ✨

Small business is funny like that. You never quite know where an idea might lead, and this little business continues to surprise people daily… including myself. 😂🤍

Hi, I'm Kate — owner, founder, and designer behind TWIGG Jewellery. ✨
TWIGG began in 2013 with a simple idea: to create jewellery that was a little different — quality pieces that were creative, meaningful, and genuinely handcrafted. What started as a passion project has grown into a business now stocked in over 200 retailers across New Zealand.

My career journey has been anything but traditional. I've worked across New Zealand, the UK, and Australia in industries ranging from investment banking to ASX-listed companies, in roles spanning HR, recruitment, sales, operations, training, management, and leadership to name a few ..

These days, I wear many hats running a business. From design and photography to marketing, customer service, forecasting, and accounting, no two days are ever the same. I've learned that hard work, resilience, and backing yourself can take you further than you ever imagined - and never give up .. anything is possible!!

At heart, though, I'm still a country girl. I grew up in the country surrounded by animals and have a lifelong love of horses, the outdoors, art, fresh air, and muddy boots.

Outside of work, I'm a wife, mum to three boys, and caretaker of many much-loved animals ..

If I'm honest, I'd much rather be designing jewellery than posing for photos. I've always preferred being the person behind the scenes making things happen rather than being front and centre. But behind every TWIGG design are real person with endless ideas, some with muddy boots, and usually a coffee that's probably gone cold.

Whether you've been with us since 2013 or have only just discovered TWIGG, I'm incredibly grateful you're here. 💛

Fresh off the bench and already on their way! ✨
These earrings were designed and handcrafted this morning in our little garden studio and are now heading to Pacifica Home & Garden in Papamoa Beach.
One of the things we love most about handmade jewellery is that every piece starts as an idea and is brought to life by hand. No mass production, no big factory—just creativity, craftsmanship, and a lot of coffee.

AI models... let’s talk about it.
I know AI-generated photos can be a bit controversial, but from a small business perspective, they have been an absolute game changer.
Before AI, I’d spend one or two days every month organising photoshoots, editing images, and trying to coordinate model availability. My lovely models aren’t always free, and if I’m honest, I’m not particularly comfortable being in front of the camera myself!
The reality is that customers want to see earrings being worn. They want to understand the size, scale and how a piece sits. Until now, it simply wasn’t practical to photograph every single design on a model.
As long as the actual product is accurately represented and the earrings being sold are the exact earrings shown, I see AI as a tool that helps customers make better decisions. You can now visualise the earrings, understand their dimensions, and get a much better idea of how they’ll look when worn.
For a small handmade business, that’s pretty amazing.
I’d genuinely love to know your thoughts. Are AI model images a helpful tool, or do you prefer traditional photography?

Chucked some wedding earrings into today’s production mix and, whoops, it turns out “months away” was actually “a couple of weeks away!” 🤦🏼‍♀️
So today’s schedule just got a little more exciting, with a beautiful bridal design moving straight to the top of the bench. ✨
I’d love to show you the finished earrings, but they’ll have to stay under wraps until we have the bride’s permission... or, even better, a gorgeous photo from the big day. 🤍
One of my favourite things about handmade jewellery is that every piece has a story, and sometimes those stories come with a little extra urgency! 💍

Keeping it real... social media is hard.
I’m naturally quite a private person and, if I’m honest, I’m not particularly comfortable being in front of the camera or posting a lot about myself. Everyone says that to grow your social media you need to share more personal content, show your face, and let people into your everyday life.
So I’ll do my best to share a little more of the behind-the-scenes, the workshop, the wins, the challenges, and the everyday moments that make up our business.
But at the heart of it, what you’ll always get from us is authenticity. We’re real people, creating real products. Our jewellery is proudly New Zealand made, designed and crafted with care, and that’s where my passion truly lies.
Thanks for following along and supporting a small local business. It means more than you know. ❤️
