The bezel setting is hands down the most secure way to hold your stone. Instead of prongs, the metal wraps all the way around the gem, protecting it from every angle, keeping it locked in place no matter what life throws at you.

Carat is WEIGHT, not size. And this distinction can save you thousands.

Here's what affects how large a diamond looks:

CUT - A well-proportioned cut spreads weight across the top of the stone (the part you see). A deep cut hides weight in the base.

SHAPE - Oval, marquise, and pear cuts tend to look larger than round diamonds of the same carat weight because of their elongated shape.

SETTING - A halo setting, for example, can make a 1ct diamond look like 1.5ct+
