Whakatau Mai Rā Ki Te Whānau | Welcome To The Fold

Ever since we moved into 49 Currie St, we’ve wanted to do something with that wall. This welcome message seemed like the obvious choice.

We priced up brass letters in those early days, but the cost was wild. Then we got busy and just never got around to doing anything.

Recently, we had some space to revisit it and decided this time we’d get creative.

We also decided to lean into the community for help — getting Te Reo advice from one member and borrowing a 3D printer from another.

After weeks of printing, plenty of trial and error, and a fair bit of patience, this is the result.

How to build genuine connection in a coworking space? After years of experimenting with ways to make connections amongst our members, we’ve learned that events with a touch of novelty and good quality shared food always have the best outcome. We also make our member events family friendly, giving everyone a chance to participate in the fun.

We like to mix things up throughout the year but two signature events are always locked in and larger than others: The Manifold Winter Social and The Manifold Summer Social.

For this year’s Winter Social we arranged a spit. We cooked four legs of lamb and six chickens for over 60 people. Quite the feat but so very worth while.

A big thank you to Sam Whiteman designs for organinsng and tending the spit. Cass for event managment Jacqui Elley and Cass for the food prep and the amamzing Maniofld members community for turning out in force - such a great night!
