It’s arts trail time again! This is my third year in the Kāpiti Coast Art Trail | New Zealand and I’m thrilled to be included with such a talented group of fellow artists and makers.

Come along this Labour weekend, or Halloween weekend 10am-4pm for a yarn and look at what I’ve been up to this past year. Also one of these auspicious arts trail days is my birthday and there will be FREE CHOCOLATE but I’m not telling you which day 😆❤️

I am STILL OBSESSED with making rings at the moment, but out of all the items I make, rings are the most personal as they have to fit the right person for them! So I thought I’d put this pretty little ring out there and see if it finds its person before I pick a size for the band and set its fate 🥰

Silver is the most wonderful medium to work in, I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it. This big slab was hand carved and formed using hand tools and is a one-off. It speaks to me of the sea, the ocean shores of my home in Paekākāriki, I look at it and I can almost hear the gulls x

It’ll be on display during the or you can message me in advance if you’re interested in making it yours forever but I’ll miss it but I know I can’t keep everything but but… 🥰

Continuing my hinged hoop earring obsession here by making a larger pair of earrings for my lovely client Teresa. This is the first stage of creating lots of texture in the smooth wire which will get refined back later in the piece.

Currently obsessed with making hinged hoops… here’s a little sparkly silver number I just finished :)

As promised here’s a timelapse of the carving process for three new Awa pendants. Each takes about 20 minutes to carve the pattern into and it’s a very satisfying process so I thought I’d share it. There’s more work to be done on them yet, to create the edges and a bit more dimension in the silver slab, but that’s tomorrow’s job :)
