Salt lamp gone quiet? 🧡

It's not the lamp — it'll be the bulb or the lead. A quick swap and that warm, cosy glow is back.

If you saw last night's post about keeping your salt lamp in good health, this is where to grab what you need.

Here's what we've got on the website:

💡 15W bulb ($3.80) — for salt lamps under 7kg

💡 25W bulb ($5) — for salt lamps over 7kg

🔌 Replacement switch lead ($12) — simple on/off control

🎚️ Replacement dimmer lead ($17) — adjust the glow to suit the mood

All our bulbs and leads use the standard E14 (small screw) fitting, so any of our bulbs will work with either lead. The leads are also certified and rated up to 40W, so they suit smaller and larger lamps alike.

No need to replace the whole lamp when it's usually just a $4-$17 fix.

"Are you looking after your Himalayan salt lamp? 🧡

After 16 years and thousands of salt lamps sold, there's one issue that came up more than any other — and it's such an easy one to avoid."

THE PROBLEM:
When a salt lamp's bulb blows, most people mean to grab a new one straight away — but life gets in the way, and before you know it, weeks have gone by with the lamp just sitting there, not working. A salt lamp draws moisture out of the air all the time, heat or no heat — that's just what salt does. It's the warmth from the bulb that evaporates that moisture back out again, keeping things in balance. Without a working bulb, the lamp is just a hunk of salt soaking up moisture with nothing to evaporate it back out, and in a short space of time it can weep, damage the electrical fitting, and shorten the life of your lamp.

THE FIX:
🌙 Keep a spare bulb on hand so you can swap it straight away

🔌 If your lamp will be off for more than a day or two (blown bulb, holiday, etc), unplug it at the wall, remove the cord and bulb from the lamp, and pop a plastic bag over it, or store it in the hot water cupboard, so it isn't sitting exposed to moisture

🧻 Dry dust regularly, and wipe with a slightly damp cloth if you notice salt residue building up

📏 Check the cord at least once a year for any damage

A little care goes a long way, and it's the difference between a lamp that lasts indefinitely and one that needs replacing sooner than it should.

Fluorite Forever 🌿🌈

Few crystals show off quite like fluorite — a single mineral capable of showing up in green, purple, rainbow, and every layered combination in between.

💚 Metaphysical: Widely used to support mental clarity, calm an overloaded mind, and open the heart to fresh growth after periods of stagnation
🌀 Geological: A calcium fluoride mineral known for its wide colour range and perfect cleavage — colour often shifts between growth stages, so a single piece can show more than one shade
🛡️ Good to know: Fluorite is a relatively soft mineral, so it's best kept away from direct sun and prolonged water exposure to protect its colour and finish
