At Brereton Jeweller's, home of the Blue Pearl, we don't just specialize in Blue Pearls, we live and breath them. After being the first jewellers in the world to specialize in Blue Pearls in the late 1990's, and now with with over 15 years experience under our Akaroa Blue Pearl name, our family business is now set to take New Zealand's most amazing Gems to the next level with our own EXCLUSIVE supply of locally grown Brereton Blue Pearls! Other than our store and website you will not find our superior quality, handset pearls anywhere else in the world. They are Mabe Pearls cultured in Haliotis iris (also know as Paua or Abalone) shells. Each pearl takes 3 years to grow and is graded according to profile, lustre, surface quality and in some rare cases, colour. No two Brereton Blue Pearls are ever exactly the same. We also stock a wide range of other Pearls including rare and unusual Freshwater strands, Cook Island Black Pearls, Rare Golden South Sea Pearls, Tahitian Black Pearls, hard-to-find semiprecious stone pieces, Diamond Jewellery plus much more. If we don't have what you want, one of our experienced team can manufacture or find it for you. All images and designs remain property of Brereton Jeweller's Co Ltd.

We are closing the doors of our picton shop at the end of the month as we seek some solace in retirement life. We want to thank all of our customers from the last 15 years here and many more years in Akaroa prior to this. And to say thanks we are offering up to 50% off much of the stock we have on display in the shop right now. Keep an eye out for a promotion coming soon, and dont unfollow us yet! We will have more to come on our page beyond the closure of the shop as we clear our shelves and safes of beautiful bespoke jewellery.
