In 1960, Salvatore Alessi, an Italian immigrant whom with his wide knowledge and skills in jewelry, precious stones and gems, opens up his first store in Panama’s central avenue; quickly becoming one of the best jewelry stores in the whole country. In 1984, Alessi opens up a new and modern store in Plaza Paitilla, where he continued the manufacturing and sales of top quality jewelry. In 1993, Salvatore opens up his new branch store located on the ground floor of the Continental Hotel, together with his own goldsmith shop which has become one of the highest regarded in Central America. He has brought a new era of innovative manufacture of fine jewelry, while importing precious stones and gems from Italy, The United States and the Far East, making La Huaca Jewelry Stores one of the most prestigious in the country.
