Sharing another treasured addition to my Philippine currency collection—three classic banknotes from the Ang Bagong Lipunan (ABL) Series, one of the most iconic banknote series issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas during the late 1970s to the early 1990s.

💶 ₱2 Piso – Dr. José Rizal

* Front: National Hero Dr. José Rizal
* Back: Proclamation of Philippine Independence at Aguinaldo’s Mansion in Kawit, Cavite

💴 ₱10 Piso – Apolinario Mabini

* Front: The “Brains of the Revolution,” Apolinario Mabini
* Back: Historic Barasoain Church, the birthplace of the First Philippine Republic

💷 ₱100 Piso – President Manuel Roxas

* Front: Manuel Roxas, the first President of the Third Philippine Republic
* Back: The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex in Manila

The 1975 Republic of the Philippines Proof Set represents a significant chapter in Philippine coinage history. Issued by the Central Bank of the Philippines and minted by the Franklin Mint in the United States, this set marked the first year of the “Ang Bagong Lipunan” coin series.

The collection includes proof versions of the 1 Sentimo, 5 Sentimo, 10 Sentimo, 25 Sentimo, 1 Piso, 5 Piso, 25 Piso, and 50 Piso denominations. Each coin features a mirror-like finish and sharp details, showcasing prominent Filipino figures and national symbols.
