Seiko SBTR SBTQ Chronograph available at Time Lux
Seiko SBTR and SBTQ are both quartz chronograph models under the Seiko Selection series, which are popular for their cost-effectiveness and diverse designs. The main differences are as follows:
• SBTR Series:
◦ Movement: It is equipped with 8T63 or 8T67 movement. The 8T63 is a horizontal chronograph, and the 8T67 is a vertical chronograph. The accuracy is about ±15 seconds per month, and the battery life is about 3 years.
◦ Functions: It has functions such as a 24-hour hand, small seconds hand, stopwatch (1/5 second measurement, 60-minute counter or 12-hour counter), and date display. It has a tachymeter scale on the bezel, and the hands and hour markers are coated with Lumibrite for easy reading in the dark.
◦ Design: The case is made of stainless steel, with a diameter of about 39-41mm and a thickness of about 11.7-12.6mm. It uses a box-type Hardlex crystal and a screw-down case back. The dials are available in various colors and styles, such as black, white, blue, etc., and the straps are mostly stainless steel.
◦ Water Resistance: Most models have a water resistance of 5 bar or 10 bar, which is suitable for daily use and light water activities.
• SBTQ Series:
◦ Movement: It also uses quartz movement, which has the characteristics of high accuracy and stable performance, and the battery life is relatively long.
◦ Functions: It has basic chronograph functions, such as stopwatch timing and date display, and some models may also have other additional functions, but the overall functional configuration is relatively simple compared to the SBTR series.
◦ Design: The design is more concise and fashionable, with a smaller case size, usually about 38-40mm, which is suitable for people with slimmer wrists. The dial colors are mainly classic colors such as black, white, and blue, and the straps are available in stainless steel, leather, etc.
◦ Water Resistance: Generally, it has a water resistance of 5 bar, which can meet the needs of daily life waterproofing, such as washing hands and face, and being caught in the rain.
