🎓 Dr. Eligiusz Szełęg from the Faculty of Earth Sciences at the University of Silesia is the author and co-author of numerous scientific papers in the field of mineralogy, the author of a collector’s guide (Atlas of Minerals and Rocks), and co-discoverer of three new minerals found in Poland (Pilawite-(Y), Bohseite, and Żabińskiite). He is also a mineral collector specializing in Polish localities.

💥 A World-Class "Agate Event" at the Crystal Days - Sudecki Festiwal Minerałów 2025 – Minerały i Zabawa!

🔥 During the Festival, the legendary Dietrich Mayer Agate Collection will be available for purchase for the first time ever! An event of this scale has never happened in Poland before!

🇩🇪 Dietrich Mayer’s collection (Germany) is widely regarded as the greatest agate collection in history – the result of 40 years of searching for the “best of the best,” traveling the globe, publishing a two-volume photo book, and gathering breathtaking specimens!

📸 Some agates from this collection were showcased back in 2018 during a special exhibition at the very first edition of the Sudetes Mineral Festival.

✨ This year, the first part of Mayer’s collection – 1,300 German agates – will be offered for sale at the Festival in Lubań, attracting agate collectors from all over Europe!

🌎 Events like this usually happen only at the world’s top mineral shows – in Tucson (USA) or Munich (Germany). Now, Lubań and the Crystal Days are joining those ranks!

💥 Exhibition: Agates and Jaspers from the Collection of Johann Zenz (Austria)
Johann Zenz developed a passion for minerals at a young age and quickly focused his interest on agates. What began as a hobby soon evolved into a scientific pursuit, leading Johann to author numerous articles on the subject. Between 2005 and 2011, he published the most comprehensive agate encyclopedia to date — “Agates” Vol. I, II & III — over 2,000 pages and 6,000 photographs!
He also created an encyclopedic website that brings together agate collectors from around the world: www.agates.click

🔥 Johann’s collection includes over 7,500 agates, primarily from Germany, Mexico, and the USA. He also holds a vast systematic collection of agates and jaspers from all over the globe. More about his work: www.achate.at

🎨 Main Exhibition "Minerals – Masterpieces of Nature" - High-quality mineral specimens are often compared to works of art. In this exhibition, we will illustrate the key features that make an ordinary "stone" become an extraordinary "masterpiece" created by nature.

🌈 Exhibition "Tourmaline Kaleidoscope" - An enchanting display showcasing the fascinating natural wealth of minerals, enriched with the stunning colors and forms of tourmalines from different parts of the world.

✨ Exhibition "Minerals of the Western Sudetes" by the Regional Museum in Lubań - A permanent exhibition at the Bracka Tower featuring over 500 mineral specimens, including quartz, calcite, fluorite, and agates. This is a journey through the geological diversity of the region, enriched with knowledge about its treasures.

⭐ "Crystallized Images" by Olga Orlińska Szczyżowska – Surreal compositions and atmospheric still lifes inspired by the beauty of minerals and Sudetes landscapes, created using mixed techniques. This is a meeting of art and nature that transports us into an extraordinary world of imagination.

💥 Exhibition "Uranium Glass and Fluorescent Minerals from the Podgórze Mine" - During the festival, you can view an exhibition of uranium glass on loan from the Podgórze Mine. The collection features uranium minerals that glow intensely green under UV light. The exhibition also includes fluorescent minerals from the Regional Museum in Lubań, which shine in various colors under ultraviolet light. WOW effect guaranteed!

💎 Agates from the Thorsten Jacob Collection – A collection of 100 unique agates from various parts of the world, including Germany, China, Argentina, and the USA, carefully selected by the renowned collector from Lusatia. This is a fascinating journey through the colors and patterns of nature, captured in stone.

🏆 Private Collectors' Exhibitions – A competition for the best collector's display, where several collectors will showcase their cabinets in the Wedding Hall of the historic Town Hall. The exhibitions will be judged by an international jury as well as the public. This is an opportunity to discover unique treasures and the passionate hobbies of mineral enthusiasts.
