Today in Poland there is no shortage of talented and creative jewelry artists. Many of them explore a wide range of subjects through narrative jewelry, using it to express views on both personal and societal issues. Some explore political and social themes such as the ecology and pollution, consumerism, protest, identity, and memory in their work. Others use jewelry to reflect on personal stories, memory, or cultural identity—confirming its lasting role as a medium for meaning, emotion, and a way of responding to the world around us.
Anna Wójcik-Korbas describes jewelry in Poland over the decades, including works made with amber, the “gold of the North.” See link in bio to check out the article and see more jewelry!
