I know it’s a quite long caption, but I wanted to present you my pieces from the exhibition for the Lisbon Jewellery Biennial: Parallel Realms - Wearable World
‘Lungs of the Earth’ explores coexistence between realms that appear separate: the human body, the underwater world, and the living systems of the planet.
Coral becomes the central element of the collection, evoking the underwater world and its role as one of the lungs of the ocean. Through jewellery, these forms are brought from the scale of the Earth to the scale of the body, creating a small, wearable landscape where different realms can exist together.
The earrings become lungs; the necklace becomes a network of vessels carrying a coral spine; the rings continues the language of arteries.
