Have you ever wondered what actually holds a diamond in place? Let us show you and tell you all about it.

At this stage, the ring is already beginning to resemble a flower, but each stone still needs to take its place. The diamond is set into a specially prepared mount (a collet). Its edge — the girdle — rests precisely against it. And then the craftsman’s work begins.

Using a special tool — a pneumatic engraving handpiece — the master gradually and very carefully brings the gold towards the diamond. A fine metal rim forms around the stone, holding it in place. This technique is called a closed collet setting. No glue — only gold, precision, and craftsmanship.

And so, diamond by diamond — until the jewellery construction, before your eyes, turns into a precious flower.

A Mexican opal — this is our «blank page» and our main source of inspiration. The artist does not begin the search for the perfect ring design with a clean sheet, but by peering into the depths of this stone. Its lines, its glow, and its iridescent shifts determine the form of the future piece.

Alongside, notes begin to appear — ones that might seem insignificant at first glance, yet they are precisely what decides how the setting will look in the finished jewel: mirror-glossy, softly matte, or with a delicate satin sheen.

The artist hand-draws even the nuances of texture, so that even before production begins, it is clear where the surface should reflect light and where it should soften it.

This is how something that recently existed only on a blank page gradually becomes a real piece of jewellery.
