“It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
Sometimes what we call normal is simply what we have learned to accept.
A society can normalize stress, disconnection, endless consumption, comparison, loneliness and ways of living that separate us from ourselves, each other and the natural world.
Perhaps health is not only about how well we adapt.
Perhaps it is also about having the awareness to question what we are adapting to.
To listen inward.
To remain human.
To choose connection over disconnection, presence over constant stimulation, and love over fear.
Sometimes not fitting into an unhealthy system is not a failure to adjust.
It may be the beginning of awareness.
