🕊️ Small in size. Extraordinary in skill.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Jadeite carving is that bigger means more difficult.

In reality, miniature carvings like these often require even greater precision and craftsmanship.

Each of these tiny Jadeite birds was carved from natural Jadeite by a skilled craftsman, carefully shaping every feather, curve, and detail within a very limited space. There is little room for error. A single wrong cut can change the entire piece.

What amazes me most is how much life can be brought out from such a small piece of Jadeite.

From vibrant green to soft lavender and icy translucent Jadeite, each bird has its own character and charm. Looking at them closely, they almost seem ready to flutter away. 🕊️

This is one of the reasons I enjoy sourcing unique Jadeite pieces and working with talented craftsmen who can transform beautiful material into miniature works of art.

Sometimes, jewellery doesn’t need replacing. It just needs a new beginning. ✨

Recently, my girlfriend E brought me a few pieces she had collected over the years. She wasn’t wearing them anymore, including this pair of jadeite earrings that felt a little too old-fashioned for her.

But the jadeites? Beautiful quality. Definitely worth keeping and wearing for many more years. 💚

So we decided to redesign what she already had.

Together, we reimagined the pieces and transformed the jadeites into this modern Art Deco-inspired design — elegant, timeless and completely different from the original.

Our experienced craftsman brought the design to life beautifully, and seeing how happy E was with the final piece made it all worthwhile. ✨

This is what we love about jadeite — giving beautiful stones a new life while creating something that feels modern and uniquely yours.

A little throwback to my first SIJE, and a rare moment when I brought out my own collection to showcase at my booth. 🤍

My hand resting on one of the trays of jadeite carvings I’ve collected over the years — pieces that I’ve picked up simply because something about them caught my eye. A beautiful carving, an unusual shape, an interesting detail… sometimes I don’t even know what they’ll become yet. I just know I love them.

Most people probably haven’t seen this side of my collection, as these are pieces I rarely bring out or showcase.

Beyond designing jewellery, I really love the process of sourcing and curating. The excitement of coming across a gorgeous jadeite carving or gemstone, imagining its possibilities, and sometimes letting it sit with me until the right idea comes along.

I’m opening up some of these pieces for those who may be looking for something special for their next jewellery project.
