Padparadscha sapphires. A rarity among sapphires. Among the many colours of sapphire, Padparadscha is one of the rarest and most sought-after. What makes it exceptional is the unusual combination of pink and orange within a single gemstone. Finding this delicate balance in nature is uncommon, and finding a beautiful example with good clarity, colour and brilliance is even more challenging.

This bespoke engagement ring was thoughtfully designed around the couple’s favourite colours, brought to life through two exceptional gemstones. A brilliantly cut oval pink sapphire, unheated (GIA-certified), radiates a soft yet powerful glow — full of warmth, love, and intention. Beside it, a pear-shaped dark grey spinel (Bellerophon certified) offers depth and quiet strength, creating a striking contrast.

Set side by side, the pairing is deliberate — not matching, but harmonious. A reflection of two individuals, each with their own essence, choosing to walk together.

A very special diamond we sourced for K*. This natural pear-shaped diamond is graded D colour, Flawless clarity, with Excellent Polish and Excellent Symmetry by GIA. But there is something else about this diamond that makes it particularly rare — it is Type IIa.

Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure type of natural diamonds, with no measurable nitrogen or boron. Only a very small percentage of natural diamonds fall into this classification. Some of the world's most famous diamonds, including the Cullinan and Koh-i-Noor, are Type IIa too.

For us, finding a diamond like this is always exciting. D Flawless is already an exceptional combination, but to find it together with a Type IIa classification makes this pear extra special. We sourced several options before selecting this one; it had to look just as good in person as it did on paper, considering its beautiful pear shape, proportions, and brilliance.

For her ring, we kept the design elegant and let the diamond take centre stage. A petal-inspired basket holds the pear beautifully from the side, finished with a classic pavé diamond band for just the right amount of sparkle. We also customised the height of the ring setting so that it sits beautifully with her existing bands.

Wedding rings don't always have to match. For S & W, they each chose a design that felt right for them — different in character, but made in the same beautiful platinum, and chosen to mark the same promise.

Crafted in Japan, each band carries its own details and finishing, reflecting the individual who wears it. We also added special engravings and secret stones just for them — something personal, quietly kept between the two.

For his band, something particularly special — hand-chiselled artistic engraving created using a traditional Japanese technique known as 片切り(katakiri). A difficult technique to master, the lettering is carved individually by hand with a chisel, giving the engraving a character and expression that you simply don't get from standard engraving.

We love that their rings are not identical. They are two individual pieces, each with its own character, yet connected by what they represent. Two rings, two individuals, one life together.

Design
The surface features a distinctive hairline finish with a softly textured, matte appearance. Delicate leaf motifs are engraved along the sides, while fine milgrain detailing traces the edges, enhancing its timeless, classical beauty.

Diamond
The diamonds, representing the “fruits,” are positioned so that when the two rings are placed together, they complement one another. Couples can choose the combination that best suits their preferences. Yesterday, Ciel Jewels opened the doors to a new chapter. 🌸 Ciel Jewels began in 2015, with a love for beautiful jewellery and the belief that jewellery should carry meaning, hold memories, and become part of someone’s story.

Our new space has been created with the same thoughtfulness we bring to every piece of jewellery — quiet, intimate and considered. A place where gemstones can be studied, ideas can take shape, and meaningful pieces can be created slowly and thoughtfully, one client at a time.

From the countless gemstones carefully selected, to the bespoke pieces designed from scratch, the wedding bands chosen for a lifetime, and the many conversations, consultations and stories shared along the way — every part of this journey has shaped Ciel Jewels into what it is today.

This new chapter is not simply about a new space. It is about everything that has come before it — the clients who trusted us, the stories we have been privileged to be part of, and the many late nights, lessons and little moments that have shaped Ciel Jewels along the way.
