As a bespoke private jeweller based in Singapore, Chocolate Gems brings you into an exclusive world of distinctive handcrafted, personally sold jewellery. Born out of founder, Archana Patel’s love for all things bold, bling and beautiful, Chocolate Gems’ pieces will appeal to the discerning individual who looks for the unique (and delicious!), rather than the conventional, to express her personal

style. The gemstones we use are handpicked, and every piece of jewellery is individually made by skilled master craftsmen to ensure the finest quality. The ready-to-wear collection, which changes constantly, consists of pieces that are mostly one-of-a-kind. We also enjoy working with you to create jewellery of your choice, either using stones we have sourced for you or your own gemstones, or even through updating and reworking your existing pieces to give them a completely new look and feel. The pieces that form our "fun" collection" are on permanent display at our showroom located at #04-00, 115 Amoy Street. The full collection can be viewed by prior appointment. In order for our clients to fully enjoy the personal customised service we offer, we would recommend you make an appointment. Please PM us if you are interested in viewing the complete collection and/or would like to be included in our mailing list to be kept informed of our private shows and other events.

Open-prong rings have existed in jewellery design for centuries, often symbolising openness, duality, or two contrasting elements existing in balance. In this case, I’d say it’s softness meets sunshine.

It’s a delicate and finely-made ring. But the warmth of that marquise-cut yellow sapphire (and for those of you who know me, you’ll also know I find it verrry difficult to resist a marquise cut!) paired with the subtle glow of the tiny freshwater pearl gives the piece far more....I guess the word I'm looking for is *presence*, than its size suggests.

If you’re looking for something that feels light and effortless, but still makes a statement, this ring could very well be IT.

Well. This escalated into a matching set.

After making the earrings, it felt almost unfair not to let this peridot and colour-change garnet combination become a ring too.

The peridot has that fresh green glow that always feels happy to me, while the colour-change garnets very subtly shift tone under different lighting, like tiny gemstones with mood swings.

Part of the “fun” range, but still with all the details I care about: unusual gemstones, thoughtful design, and a piece that feels special without being overly serious.

Now in the showroom, continuing its campaign of quiet temptation.

Confession: I’m not a matching set person.

But apparently this peridot and colour-change garnet pairing had other plans. So in a highly unusual turn of events for me, there is a matching ring. I know. I’m surprised too.

This earring pair is part of a trio in one of my signature designs — all one-of-a-kind gemstone pairings, all sitting firmly in the “fun” range, and all finished with mouse tails so they can be worn in different ways depending on your mood (or outfit crisis).

Currently in the showroom, causing temptation.

Not all sapphires are blue (yes, really). This ring features an unheated sapphire in the most unusual greenish hue, framed by diamonds and colour-change garnets that subtly shift tone under different lighting conditions, almost like tiny mood rings with far better credentials 😉

A unique gemstone combination, a beautifully wearable ring, and a surprisingly attainable price point for something this distinctive.

Now in the showroom, quietly causing trouble.

Some gemstones announce themselves immediately. These Afghan tourmalines certainly did!

I shared them briefly on Stories before setting them, and the response was immediate (and excited!). I understood why though, the colour is absolutely delish! Richly saturated, slightly neon; it *glows*, rather than simply sparkles.

Afghanistan has produced some exceptional tourmalines over the years, with certain mines becoming especially prized for stones with intense colour and remarkable clarity.

I wanted the setting for this pair to feel elegant and wearable. So I kept it simple, framing the tourmaline with mined diamonds, in platinum, and finishing with mouse tails so the earrings can be worn in different ways, depending on your mood.

The studs look and feel luxe, and as always, intentionally remain at a price point that makes them genuinely enjoyable to own and wear often. Which, to me, is exactly how jewellery should feel ❤️

Aquamarine was said to be one of Elizabeth Taylor’s favourite gemstones — and I completely understand the appeal. It has a lovely softness to it but still manages to command attention.

This particular stone has a beautiful glow, especially in low light. One of the photos in this carousel was taken indoors in the early evening, with no lights on, and the aquamarine still seemed almost lit from within.

Pieces like this are exactly why I love carefully sourcing gemstones for the RTW collection: special enough to feel indulgent, but still wonderfully approachable and wearable.

Waiting at the Chocolate Gems showroom if you’d like to try this beauty of a ring on in person 💙

I brought back a much loved design - this pair features Australian opal framed by blue sapphires and it sits in the "fun" range of the RTW collection. And yes of course it comes with mouse tails for multi-wear options! Need you even ask? 😉

There are three unique gemstone/pearl combinations in this design currently available (swipe through to take a look). DM if you'd like to know more!

They start as studs.... but they don't have to stay that way! Four different ways to wear this tourmaline pair - depending on how you feel on the day.

If you'd like to come by and play with them, these one-of-a-kind earrings are currently sitting in my Amoy St showroom.

A short story about how a little transformation can go a long way.

These tourmaline studs were originally created for P a while ago, back when she was firmly in her less is more era 😉 As time went by and her style evolved, they slowly became… well, a little toooo well-behaved for her.

My solution? Not replacing the earrings, but building on them.

I designed earring jackets to sit seamlessly behind the studs – for an instant lift in presence (and personality). And with the addition of mouse tails, the jackets can also carry gemstone or pearl drops… turning one pair into multiple looks:

• P can wear just the studs for everyday
• Add the jackets for a fuller, more elevated silhouette, and
• Attach detachable drops for when she is feeling a little extra.

Custom jewellery isn’t always about creating something new — it can also be about evolving what you already have.

So if there’s a piece you’ve fallen out of love with, don’t give up on it just yet. DM me, I may just have a few ideas 🥰

Tourmaline detachable drops, with a classic halo, are one of the most popular of my clients' choices to pair with the signature half-huggies. The intense colour saturation of these Afghan tourmalines means the drops don't have to be large to stand out. Which also makes them perfect to take you from day to evening wear.

The drops featured in the carousel above have all sold, but I always have loose pairs of tourmalines available if you're looking to custom-make your own pair. DM to find out more if they're catching your eye 😊
