__ A lovely Saturday at the gallery yesterday❣️

One of those days that quietly reminded me why I still love doing this after all these years.

The day actually started with me sitting on the sofa… staring hard at this new little corner with a long silly smile on my face.

Sometimes, I think I enjoy creating spaces almost as much as I enjoy curating watches.

Not long after, a lovely & stylish couple dropped by to pass me some travel souvenirs they had thoughtfully brought back from Japan. 太有心了❣️

Later in the afternoon, a loving father came by with his 13-year-old daughter to collect the box set for a watch he had purchased earlier. While here, he ended up helping another good friend overseas choose & secure a watch for his upcoming 40th birthday too.

Another lovely couple who had visited the gallery last week also returned…& decided to bring home a beautiful Patek Philippe for the lady of the house.

Such a positive & radiant person.

“She brought sunshine into your gallery,” another friend later told me after meeting them. And honestly… I think he was right.

She modestly described herself as “just a part-time influencer,” which genuinely humbled me a little because her Instagram following is apparently more than 5 times larger than mine… yet she carried herself with such warmth, humility, sincerity, & positivity throughout the entire afternoon.

A quiet reminder that truly impressive people rarely feel the need to impress anyone loudly.

As evening slowly arrived, more old friends dropped by.

Coffee was made.�Chairs shifted closer.�Stories exchanged.�Life updates shared.

And eventually, the day ended exactly the way good days should. Two old friends sitting on the sofas with music in the background (think 无间道）…talking about life, watches, design, people, dreams, & everything in between while the gallery slowly softened into night.

No rush.�No agenda.�Just good company.

Sometimes I look around moments like these & quietly smile to myself.

Because I never really wanted to build a shop.

I think I simply wanted to build a place people would enjoy returning to.

What a lovely Saturday❣️

___ Much of my time is spent sourcing and curating special pieces for your selection.

Some deals happen quickly. Others take weeks…sometimes months.

Because the truly special watches are rarely owned by people eager to sell them. More often than not, they are deeply loved pieces. Collected carefully. Kept closely. Worn through different chapters of life.

And this photo captured me doing exactly that.

Late night in the gallery yesterday. Quiet surroundings. Phone against my ear for a couple of hours …searching for that tiny W⃣I⃣N⃣D⃣O⃣W⃣of opportunity, hoping to convince someone to finally let go of something they once thought they’d keep forever.

And honestly?

I love every part of that chase❣️

Others whisper with confidence.

This rarely seen ultra-thin 18K yellow gold Cartier from ca.1966 belongs firmly to the latter.

No date.
No complication.
No excess.

Just proportion, restraint, and the quiet elegance Cartier understood so well during that era.

At only 30mm, it wears with the kind of refined confidence that reminds us true style was never about size. The warmth of the yellow gold case paired with the rich burgundy strap gives it that unmistakable old-world charm… almost like a beautifully aged leather-bound book resting quietly on a shelf.

And perhaps that is the beauty of watches like this.

They were never designed to impress everyone.

Yet somehow, they spoke the same quiet language of proportion, restraint, and timeless elegance.

There’s something about wearing a vintage Tank Louis that feels like borrowing time from another decade.

Some pieces impress across a room.
This one impresses when someone leans closer. It sits slim on the wrist, ticks softly, and catches just enough light to start conversations with the right people.

Ref. 78086 brings the hand-wound romance and all the quiet elegance, yet still slips effortlessly into everyday life, coffee runs, meetings, dinners, unplanned days.

In 1973, Cartier released its first historical collection, the Louis Cartier Collection. It started as a collection of 12 watches that brought designs from Cartier’s golden years into serial production – like the Tank and Santos-Dumont – while also introducing new designs such as the Cristallor, Ellipse, and Coussin.

This 1970s example Ref: 78086 we are presenting here is part of the 12 models launched and is probably one the most sought after amongst the dozen.

Case: 18K yellow gold case. 23x30mm. In good condition with crisp hallmarks showing the reference & serial numbers clearly. With its original threaded strap pins.

Dial: Nicely aged Mark 2 PARIS dial with charming patina, pointy A logo with no secret signature, classic Roman numerals, chemin-de-fer minute track & blued steel hands set.

Crown: Beaded, set with a blue cabochon sapphire, a signature of Cartier elegance.

Strap & Buckle: Period correct 18K yellow gold original Cartier deployant buckle on a customised leather strap.

Some write poetry. Some sign contracts, sketch dreams, journal thoughts, or quietly underline moments they never wish to forget.

And then there are objects like this…
