__ I rarely dress up.

Most days you’ll find me in my super casual get-up.

So it was rather fun making an effort for a friend’s wedding yesterday. 🥂

A brother spotted me, laughed, and insisted on taking this photograph, with that awkward pose.

Which is kind of fun.

Because if left to my own devices, I would probably have taken a picture of the cake instead.

Which I did, actually. 😆❣️

Looking at it now, I am glad he did.

And besides…

It isn’t every day that I make more effort dressing myself than dressing a watch.

But I must admit:

“When you dress well, you feel good”.

Much like wearing a watch you truly love.

It doesn’t change who you are.

It simply reminds you of the best version of yourself. ❣️

___ A watchmaker’s bench is a little like a piano.

To most people,
it is just an object.

But in the right hands…
it creates magic. ❣️

Perhaps that’s why I’ve long been drawn to both.

I wish I could play the piano…
much like I wish I were a watchmaker.

Because there is something deeply beautiful about people who can quietly create joy with their hands.

A pianist.
A watchmaker.
A hairstylist.

Different instruments.
The same intention.

To delight.

I am attending my hairstylist’s wedding lunch today.
If I could play the piano, I would happily play the wedding march for him.

The Nautilus has always been a masterclass in proportion, but the 5980/1AR-001 perhaps wears its two-tone attire better than any other reference in the collection.

The deep blue embossed dial provides a striking contrast against the warm glow of the 18K rose gold bezel, creating a combination that feels both sporty and unmistakably luxurious. ___ I was looking for a pop of yellow for the house.

Instead, I rediscovered a forgotten piece of myself sitting above a shelf since 2016.

Those are usually the best finds.

Sometimes collecting isn’t about acquiring something new.

It’s about finally seeing what you’ve had all along.

Funnily enough, after bringing this old PSA crane down, yellow seemed to follow me everywhere this morning.

A yellow Porsche.

A yellow van.

A yellow breakfast takeaway bag.

Even the yellow road markings somehow stood out more than usual.

I even found myself taking a second… and third look at a few cranes I drove past. They were yellow too.

Perhaps it isn’t luck.

Perhaps I’ve simply started noticing what was already there.

Because once something captures our imagination, the world has a funny way of showing it to us everywhere.

Either way, I find myself smiling a little more since last night.

And I am happy.

Very, very happy❣️

__ A lovely Saturday at the gallery yesterday❣️

One of those days that quietly reminded me why I still love doing this after all these years.

The day actually started with me sitting on the sofa… staring hard at this new little corner with a long silly smile on my face.

Sometimes, I think I enjoy creating spaces almost as much as I enjoy curating watches.

Not long after, a lovely & stylish couple dropped by to pass me some travel souvenirs they had thoughtfully brought back from Japan. 太有心了❣️

Later in the afternoon, a loving father came by with his 13-year-old daughter to collect the box set for a watch he had purchased earlier. While here, he ended up helping another good friend overseas choose & secure a watch for his upcoming 40th birthday too.

Another lovely couple who had visited the gallery last week also returned…& decided to bring home a beautiful Patek Philippe for the lady of the house.

Such a positive & radiant person.

“She brought sunshine into your gallery,” another friend later told me after meeting them. And honestly… I think he was right.

She modestly described herself as “just a part-time influencer,” which genuinely humbled me a little because her Instagram following is apparently more than 5 times larger than mine… yet she carried herself with such warmth, humility, sincerity, & positivity throughout the entire afternoon.

A quiet reminder that truly impressive people rarely feel the need to impress anyone loudly.

As evening slowly arrived, more old friends dropped by.

Coffee was made.�Chairs shifted closer.�Stories exchanged.�Life updates shared.

And eventually, the day ended exactly the way good days should. Two old friends sitting on the sofas with music in the background (think 无间道）…talking about life, watches, design, people, dreams, & everything in between while the gallery slowly softened into night.

No rush.�No agenda.�Just good company.

Sometimes I look around moments like these & quietly smile to myself.

Because I never really wanted to build a shop.

I think I simply wanted to build a place people would enjoy returning to.

What a lovely Saturday❣️
