In the markets, we may walk different paths.
But within the Remisier community, we still come together as one.
That was probably one of the biggest feelings many of us brought home after last nightโs ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ง-๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ ๐ session.
It was heartening to see both familiar faces and many new members from the Remisier fraternity coming together again, not just to learn, but to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen friendships within the profession.
The evening started with opening remarks by SGX Senior Advisor, Andrew Ler, whose thoughtful opening speech and warm moderation continue to inspire many within the community.
We also had the privilege of hearing from Ong Cheong Jin, Director - Capital Market Development and ESGenome at SGX, who shared more about ๐๐ง๐ฏ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐, a growing platform that helps investors and traders better connect, learn, and engage within the Singapore market ecosystem.
What stood out personally was how InvestSG is not simply about information sharing, but about building a more connected investing community. In todayโs market environment, where investors are constantly navigating headlines, volatility, and shifting narratives, platforms that encourage learning, engagement, and responsible investing conversations become increasingly meaningful for retail investors.
The panel discussion that followed was equally insightful, with Andrew moderating a candid and relatable conversation featuring fellow Remisiers Johnson Koh from UOBKH, Lek Yew Meng from Lim & Tan, and Marcus Toh from PhillipCapital.
What made the session especially meaningful was the openness in which experiences were shared, from industry observations to personal journeys as ambassadors and practitioners within the financial markets. Beyond the technical side of the profession, the discussion also reminded many of us that this industry is ultimately still a people business, built on trust, relationships, and continuous learning.
And of course, no Remisier gathering truly feels complete without good food and even better conversations.
The post-event mingling felt less like a formal networking session, and more like a family gathering, with old friends catching up, newer members getting to know one another, and everyone sharing stories from both the markets and life itself.
From all of us at The Society of Remisiers (Singapore), a big thank you to SGX Group for organising and SAS for supporting yet another meaningful session for the Remisier community.
In a fast-moving industry where markets constantly evolve, one thing continues to remain special about the remisier profession:
The strong community spirit, where knowledge is shared, friendships are formed, and the โkampungโ spirit continues to live on across generations of Remisiers.
