What is underneath the Gold plating ? You won’t believe it !
From base to final final layer:
1: Silver (Base)
The silver base must be smooth, non-porous, and thoroughly cleaned to ensure high-quality plating and strong adhesion.
2: Palladium 0.5μ
This layer is crucial to prevent the diffusion of silver into the gold layer, which can cause discoloration and degradation. It also provides excellent adhesion for the subsequent layers.
3: Silver 3μ
A silver layer can help ensure a uniform and smooth surface for the final gold plating, improving the overall appearance and quality of the gold finish.
4: Gold 3μ
The thicker the layer is plated, the longer the plating will last.
