We work with materials billions of years old. That alone gives us the ultimate perspective.

Can the past year’s saturation be the raw material for our next inquiry? Do we need a recalibration of our Geometry of Brilliance?

I explore this concept in my latest essay, "The Geometry of Perpetual Beginning." Read here: https://www.reenaahluwalia.com/blog/2026/2/20/the-geometry-of-perpetual-beginning

Fred Mouawad and I in Bangkok. We find ourselves exploring the concepts of rarity, art, high jewelry, the impact of AI and future-tech in luxury, human-centricity and storytelling.

There is a natural flow-state in our chats that I value so much.

Fred is a mind-expander and a valued friend. I believe we all need peers who can push our minds - not just in business, but in life. Isn't that a wonderful thing!

India is rising with a Billion Diamond Dreams. But are we ready?

The Indian diamond and jewelry industry stands at a cultural inflection point. It has the history, scale, and skill.

Its continuing evolution, however, requires a shift towards Cultural Authorship. Understanding the next billion aspirations and designing to fulfill them.

I examine the blueprint for this next chapter in my latest article for Diamond World Magazine. Read here: https://www.diamondworld.net/news/crafting-indias-jewellery-narrative-through-cultural-authorship

Absence makes presence intentional. That’s the power of Negative Space. In design, it’s the space around the form that gives it meaning.

What is Negative Space?
It’s the area around, between, or within the main elements of a composition. More than emptiness, it’s an active design tool that guides perception and carries emotional weight.

How I Use Negative Space, Intentionally.
As you can tell, I have a soft spot for negative space. Here's my ‘Ethereal Rhapsody’ necklace set with Tahitian pearls and diamonds. My design was inspired by the Pleiades star cluster also known as Seven Sisters in Greek mythology. I used light, shadow, and colour interplay to highlight rhythmic, interconnected forms, contrasted by the space around and within. Designing it was a constant negotiation of form, movement, and space. I designed it so the negative space reveals itself from different angles. It leaves space for interpretation, inviting the wearer to project their own meaning.

Now consider, what would this piece be without it?

Sharing Gems from the Canadian Jewellers Association's CJA Summit 2025 in Toronto. A brilliant day infused with leadership, inspiration, and shared passion.

Great catching up with Grant Mobley, and even more meaningful that he got to see 'Red Velvet', the painting I created inspired by his short story for the Diamond Trails proj. [Read story: https://www.reenaahluwalia.com/diamond-trails]

Congrats to Angela Betteridge and the CJA team on a successful event!
