Using the unconscious mind as a gate to another realm (reality/universe vs) Maia Kaja’s works are merges the earth’s reality with another realm’s since the artist draws her inspiration from both of these worlds. The primitive style of the works comes from the nature and its contradictions while the aesthetics of the works is influenced by what is beyond the earth since the artist sees the easiest

way to reach to another reality is to use the symbols, imaginary creatures and archetypes of her unconscious mind. Artist likes to work with bronze, silver and raw natural stones as if she thinks roughness of the unconscious mind can be represented best by these hard and raw materials.
