Ming Yang Tibetan Arts started since 1989, one of the few oldest shops in Taiwan. We sell Tibetan religious items, statues, hand painted tangkas, prayer beads, incense, burners, offerings, ritual compliments, lama clothes, and cloth decorations, plus a lot more others. Ming Yang sell mostly to temple monks, center Rinpoches and lamas, center leaders and followers, to other resellers who have their own shops, and to the consumers or users themselves. Our website has been set up on year 2007, we look forward to bigger market where we can reach and meet the needs of our buyers internationally. We import 95% of our goods directly from Nepal. We have established a good relationship with a number of chosen dependable suppliers in Nepal. Our shop is a combination of the wonderful handicrafts from the work of old masters with different expertise in Nepal whose price and quality we can rely on. Ming Yang is a sole propriety ownership for the past 26 years. Managing the business from purchasing, selling, delivering and shipping out goods, communication done through phone or internet are all run by the owner. 很久以前，在一棵巨大的果樹下，大象、猴子、兔子和飛鳥為了誰才是這棵樹真正的主人而爭執不休。

與其任由衝突擴大，牠們坐下來互相交談，追溯這棵樹最初的記憶。飛鳥回憶起它還是一粒微小的種子時的樣子，因此它是最年長的；其次是兔子、猴子，最後才是巨大無比的大象。

在對智慧與年長者的深深敬意指引下，力量向經驗低頭。巨大溫馴的大象將猴子托在背上，兔子安穩地坐在猴子身上，而飛鳥則立於最頂端。透過互助與敬重，牠們輕易地採到了果實，共享豐盛。

這則根植於古代經典的永恆寓言，更蘊含深遠的象徵意義：謙卑的飛鳥化身為佛陀本身，其餘的夥伴則映照出他崇高的弟子。它至今仍是一個安靜的提醒——真正的力量不在於支配，而在於團結、無私與和諧共處。

I rearranged our window display the other day and initially planned to move our Avalokitesvara statue up to the second floor. But then I thought of our neighbors, along with the joggers, and workers who stop by almost every day for a quiet moment of prayer with their palms touching together close to heart. So, I thot why not she stay where she is. If gazing at our Avalokitesvara statue can bring a sense of relief and comfort, giving someone a moment to catch their breath and find a little peace—then I am happy, too. May all who see this be blessed 🙏

Long ago, beneath the branches of a grand fruit tree, an elephant, a monkey, a rabbit, and a bird found themselves at odds over who truly owned it.

Rather than letting conflict take root, they spoke with one another, tracing memories back to the tree's earliest days. The bird remembered it as a tiny seed, making it the eldest, followed in age by the rabbit, the monkey, and finally the towering elephant.

Guided by a profound respect for wisdom and seniority, strength bowed to experience. The massive elephant lifted the monkey, the rabbit rested upon the monkey, and the bird crowned the summit. Through mutual aid and reverence, abundance was shared by all.

Rooted in ancient scripture, this timeless parable reveals deeper meanings: the humble bird embodies the Buddha himself, while the companions reflect his revered disciples. It remains a quiet reminder that true strength lies not in dominance, but in unity, selflessness, and living in harmony.

施身法源於十一世紀西藏的女大成就者瑪吉拉尊，旨在透過觀想供養自身來徹底斷除我執與恐懼。在台灣的藏傳佛教群體中，不丹傳承的上師特別活躍於推廣此法門，主因在於不丹的竹巴噶舉與寧瑪派將其視為閉關與日常實修的核心，並對法器拍擊與儀軌有著極為嚴謹的傳統訓練；這種傳承不僅保留了完整的唱誦音調與節奏，也讓修行者能夠在深層的共修中，更純粹地實踐利他與解脫的精神。

Chöd is a practice originating in eleventh-century Tibet, founded by the female great adept Machig Labdrön, with the purpose of completely severing ego-grasping and fear through the visualization of offering one's own body. Within the Tibetan Buddhist community in Taiwan, teachers from the Bhutanese lineage are particularly active in promoting this practice, primarily because Bhutan's Drukpa Kagyu and Nyingma traditions view it as a core component of retreat and daily practice, maintaining rigorous traditional training in ritual drumming and melodies; this heritage not only preserves complete chanting tones and rhythms, but also allows practitioners to more purely embody the spirit of altruism and liberation during deep group practice.

During this practice, the drum is an indispensable ritual implement. In the course of daily or long-term dedicated practice, the striker inevitably experiences wear, loosening, or exhaustion through day-after-day beating and use. Although this accessory is inexpensive in itself, individual ordering and shipping can be somewhat troublesome, and the size specifications are difficult to match precisely, many just don’t know where to buy or how to buy? so our shop has specially ordered some extras as backups for just in case. 大約十年前，有一位從事房地產的買家來到店裡。當時有人告訴她，如果想讓事業蒸蒸日上，可以請一尊財神回家供奉。於是，她請下了這尊當時七萬元的財神像。

請回家後，她既沒有舉行裝藏或開光儀式，也從來沒有點過一炷香，只是單純安置在家裡。過了一兩年，她問我能不能幫忙轉賣？後來得知，是因為她改信了別的宗教，新信仰並不允許家裡擺放神像。而她希望可以流通的價格，是當初請購的價錢。

再次見到財神時，神像已經落滿灰塵，看了有點心疼。當時問她是否能讓我重新整理，她答應了。

然而，幾年過去了，這尊神像依然留在我店裡，等待著新歸宿。其實，我喜歡這尊財神整體的工法，無論是法相神韻、雕刻工藝、鎏金質感、線條流暢度，還是比例，都呈現得十分到位。這些年來雖然偶爾有人詢問，但總是陰錯陽差、各種緣分未能湊巧，始終沒有真正成交。

有個念頭閃過：或許，這尊財神就沒打算離開，只想留在我店裡吧。

因為接觸的物件多半帶著殊勝與文化的氣息，漸漸的，我也對這份緣分有了小小體會：『因緣具足，方能請供圓滿。』這也成了久後抱持的心意—不會強求流通，或說服客人。只盼每位迎請金身的客人皆能真心法喜、吉祥圓滿。若買家迎請後心生遲疑、家人反對、造成經濟上的負擔，或因種種障礙而心中不安，我會選擇對方將神像請回來，事後我在想辦法處理。

或許，緣分本就勉強不來，而這尊財神的歸宿，暫時便在這裡繼續守護我們。待因緣具足時，財神知道何時啟程。

About a decade ago, a real estate agent bought this God of Wealth statue from me for NTD 70,000, after a friend told her that inviting this piece would help her career grow. Without ever consecrating it or burning incense, she simply placed it aside at home. She asked me to help resell it a couple of years later after converting to a new religion that didn't allow statues at home—while hoping to sell it for the same amount she bought it for.

When I saw it again, it was covered in dust. I asked if I could clean and restore it, and she agreed.

Years have passed, and it's still sitting in my shop. Honestly, I still admire the craftsmanship of this piece—starting from the facial expression, to the gold gilding, to the carving, right up to the overall proportions. Although I have received a couple of inquiries over the years, the timing never quite worked out. A thought simply crossed my mind: maybe this piece never had the intention to leave.

Through handling sacred and cultural items in this business, I have slowly come to realize that these acquisitions only happen when the right conditions fall into place. There is no need to force a sale; or convince to buy. I sincerely hope every buyer feels true peace of mind when they invite a statue home. If there is any sort of struggle, hesitation, or doubt—like family members being against it or facing financial stress afterward—I'd much rather they bring the statue back to me.

In the meantime, this God of Wealth's home is here with me, continuing to watch over us. As for when his next journey will be, I believe it will happen at the right time.

我認識喇嘛至少25年了。那時候，我們都還年輕。

這麼多年過去了，他一直都沒有變，依然謙和，依然帶著同樣的笑容，也依然對自己的喇嘛修行充滿虔誠。

有一次，喇嘛問我，能不能幫他找人接手他的一對銅欽（大法號）。

他非常喜愛這對銅欽。他是吹奏銅欽的高手，也曾教導別人如何吹奏。但因為居住的地方不方便吹奏，樓上、樓下的鄰居都曾因為聲音而向他反映。

於是，他把這對銅欽收了起來，一放就是一年。其實，他真的很捨不得。但最後，他還是忍著不捨，做了一個決定—讓它們離開自己，尋找下一個主人。

喇嘛甚至請人為它們製作了一個專屬的盒子。保養得非常好。

而現在，我把這對銅欽展示在店裡的櫥窗。

喇嘛比我們很多人都更明白：沒有任何東西，我們可以永遠擁有。有時候，即使深深喜愛，也到了該放手的時候。不是因為不愛了，而是因為它們該開始下一段旅程了。如今，這對銅欽靜靜地等待著下一個有緣人。

I have known Y. Lama for at least 25 years. We were both much younger then.

And he has never changed through all these years — still humble, still with the same smiling face, and still deeply devoted to his Lamahood.

One day, Lama asked me if I could help him find a buyer for his pair of dungchen.

He loves his dungchen very much. He is a master of the instrument and teaches others how to play it. But the place where he lives would not allow him to play. His neighbors upstairs and downstairs complained about the noise.

So he kept the dungchen aside for a whole year. He really didn't want to part with them. But eventually, with a heavy heart, he made the difficult decision to sell them.

Now this pair of dungchen is in my shop. Lama even asked someone to make a special box for them. Lama understands better than most of us that we cannot hold on to anything forever. Sometimes, even when we love something, we have to let it go. Not because we no longer love it, but because its time has come to continue its journey.

And now, these dungchen are waiting for their next home.

The last time we visited Nepal, aside from hiking the Mardi Himal, our main purpose was also to meet with our old and new suppliers. 說到佛塔，這讓我想起一個故事。須瑞迦塔他在八十歲時才出家證得阿羅漢果。舍利弗起初因看不見其善根而拒絕他，佛陀卻指出，老人多世前曾是一隻追逐氣味而無意間繞著佛塔飛了一圈的蒼蠅。這個無心之舉種下了巨大的善根，證明即使是再微小的繞塔行為，也能累積不可思議的解脫功德。

這是一尊手工製作的尼泊爾銅鎏金藏式佛塔，高度為 33 公分，寬度為 22.5 公分，重量達 4386 公克。作為適合擺放於居家佛堂或收藏的莊嚴佛塔，它完美展現了尼泊爾金屬工藝的深厚傳統與細緻手藝。

Speaking about stupas, this reminds me of a story about an old man named Surikata who was ordained at the age of eighty and ultimately attained arhatship. When he first sought ordination, Venerable Sariputra used his clairvoyance and, seeing no past karmic connection for monkhood, turned him down. The lower drum section features four recessed alcoves, each housing a tiny seated figure of the Buddha in meditation to represent the constant presence of the enlightened mind. Above these shrines sits a rounded dome encircled by an ornate band inlaid with turquoise and coral-colored beads, representing the celestial realm and precious offerings. 當初看到這金剛杵時它還只是個半成品，特別請工匠為它加厚了鎏金，最後出來的效果真好，不僅質感細緻、握感扎實，自己非常喜歡。

這件來自尼泊爾的 9 股金剛杵長 24.5 公分、寬 8 公分，重達 1.6 公斤。主體以純銅手工打造並採厚實鎏金工藝，拿在手中份量十足，非一般輕薄機器壓模可比，展現資深工匠的珍罕工藝價值。

在佛教法器中，常見的 5 股金剛杵由 4 個外曲爪與中央柱組成，代表五智與五佛，是日常修法與灌頂的標準法器。而本件稀有的 9 股金剛杵擁有 8 個外曲爪，象徵十方圓融與更深奧的智慧，多由資深上師或用於大型法會與結界。因用料更多、工藝更繁複，其珍貴程度與地位皆高於 5 股。

對於初學者而言，其實可以安心使用或收藏 9 股金剛杵，傳統上並沒有嚴格禁忌或限制。在實務上，由於 9 股形式象徵十方圓融與深奧智慧，傳統多由資深上師使用，因此日常修法者通常較常從標準的 5 股金剛杵入門。考量本件作品重達 1.6 公斤、長 24.5 公分，拿在手中份量有些重，比起長時間拿著修法，其實更適合放置於壇城上供奉、鎮宅或作為珍貴收藏。

When I first saw this Dorje, it was only a half-finished piece, so I requested the artisan to apply a thick gold gilding. The final outcome turned out nice and perfect—the texture is refined and the grip is solid, I like it.

Because of its complex craftsmanship, greater material usage, and elevated status, its value generally exceeds that of the 5-pronged version.

In practice, because the 9-pronged form symbolizes comprehensive wisdom and harmony—traditionally used by senior masters—daily practitioners usually begin with the standard 5-pronged Dorje. 相較於台灣境外市場常見、價格低廉且外觀精美、量產替代品，這件正統準提鏡展現了卓越的工藝。由於當地市場的結構轉變，這件藝術品的庫存已極其有限。隨著創作者已年過七十且沒有接班人，再加上台灣本地市場狹小且早期買家鮮少重複購買，未來的生產已全面停擺。由於生產必須一次製造數百件的批量，使得該項目在商業上已不可行，這意味著這種獨特的風格與物件將徹底從市場上消失。

這項傳統工藝的消失令人感到遺憾，因為隨著年邁的師傅後繼無人且黃金價格飆升，這門老行業將就此失傳。這不僅意味著一項獨特技藝的斷層， 也讓這些逐漸淡出市場的作品，在日後更顯得彌足珍貴。

This Buddhist ritual altar disc is an eighteen-armed Cundi Bodhisattva piece measuring approximately 16.5 cm in diameter and weighing a little more than 2 kgs. Designed to be placed on a table, it features intricate mantra inscriptions along its dark outer border. Crafted from pure, heavy copper with genuine gold plating using jewelry-grade precision for over 40 years, it stands apart as the only piece of its kind produced by a dedicated maker in Taiwan. This specific design was initiated by senior practitioner Huang Cheng-nan. Unlike traditional canonical mirrors that position the deity's back outward, this piece features a front-facing sculptural relief of Cundi to better assist modern practitioners with visualization and devotion.

In contrast to the mass-produced, lower-priced alternatives commonly found in markets outside Taiwan, this authentic ritual object represents superior craftsmanship. Due to demographic and economic shifts within the local market, the availability of this art piece is now extremely limited. With the maker in his 70s and lacking a successor to take over, coupled with a small Taiwanese market where early buyers rarely repurchase, future production has stalled. Because manufacturing requires producing an entire batch of hundreds of pieces at once, it is no longer commercially viable, meaning this specific style and item will soon disappear from the market entirely.

It is deeply regrettable to see this traditional craft disappear, as the aging master has no successor to take over the business and the skyrocketing price of gold makes production unsustainable. This not only signifies a permanent break in a unique artistic lineage, but also marks the quiet close of an era, making these remaining works as they gently fade from the market all the more precious.
