Choosing peace today🤍
A "long day" always brings the deepest reflections, and I couldn't let today pass without sharing a piece of my heart.
To me, the word "ex" isn't just reserved for a past relationship. It belongs to anyone who used to hold a massive space in our lives—including the friends we once considered family.
Today, my biggest act of forgiveness is directed inward. I forgive myself for being entirely too available to people who ultimately chose to leave.
When I tell someone they are important to me, it comes from the absolute depths of my soul. I love unconditionally, and I stay fiercely loyal. But I’ve learned that some things end, no matter how hard we fight to hold them together.
So, I am forgiving my past choices. I am releasing my old decisions. I am stepping into the present as a much better, wiser version of who I used to be.
Please don't misunderstand—my loyalty and trustworthiness haven't changed. That is still who I am at my core. But growing older has taught me how to recognize what is real versus what is fake. It has forced me to learn the hard way how to say "no," and how to build beautiful, necessary boundaries to protect my peace.
To every "ex" who has crossed my path: the love, care, and energy I gave you was 100% real. I gave you my absolute best, and because of that, I carry zero regrets.
Cheers to the heartaches, the tears, and the quiet lessons. They didn't break me—they just paved the way for the version of me I am so proud to be today. ✨🥂
