Today's Cargo Old Town Alexandria's unique jewelry store since 1973. Custom design, jewelry repair, and appraisals. They would send her packages in the mail every few weeks.

Established in 1973
Today's Cargo originally started out by selling gold chains on a card table at Oronoco Park in Old Town Alexandria. Gladys Irvin, founder, would sell these at the flea market on Saturdays. Having been a wife of a man in the military, they lived in several countries in Asia for some time. She maintained her relationships with several of the jewelers she had met over there. So….she never really knew what she would be selling on Saturdays until she received her shipments. Thus, Today's Cargo was born. Check out our website for the rest of our history! We offer an expansive and varied collection from 14k gold, diamonds, vibrant gemstones, antiques, pearls, and watches to sterling silver, beads, fun fashion jewelry, scarves, and purses. Our jewelry pieces and accessories vary in style from classic to modern, simple to artsy, whether you want work-conservative or Saturday night showstopper. At Today’s Cargo you’ll feel free to browse yet comfortable to ask our friendly staff for assistance. We provide full repair service for your gold, silver, fashion jewelry, and watches, and are able to restring and redesign your bead and pearl necklaces.
