As women, we often put ourselves last after work and family. May is a good month to treat yourself to a jewelry piece you’ve been wanting.

Celebrate the women who have inspired you. Who has inspired you in your life?

I was raised by a strong woman. When I was 10 years old, my mom took over owning and running a restaurant without any prior experience. Yes, there’s a crazy back story. She learned on the job and created a restaurant that served great food. I learned from her to be a strong woman. I didn’t know how strong I was until I was faced with breast cancer.

I raised three children to appreciate and support strong women. My daughter is a strong, capable, talented ADHD coach. My two sons each married strong capable women. My three girls inspire me. They will each make a difference in our world from education to medicine and legal recruiting. I admire them all.

I hope we are setting a good example for my granddaughters that they can become whatever they want.

Progress on my east west chrysoprase ring.

I set a January goal to fabricate a number of gemstone rings with inset bands. I haven’t made any rings like this is many years. ( probably pre Covid was the last one).

I decided it was time to finally set some of the stones I’ve purchased over the years.

I believe in lifelong learning so I’ll keep working on these gemstone rings while improving my skills.

What a trip looking back at photos from 2016!

This photo caught my eye. is a dear friend. I made the wedding bands for Cam and Kelly. Rick and I were invited to the wedding and drove to New Jersey to attend.

Being the obsessive jeweler that I am, I brought a ring mandrel and mallet with me to the wedding just in case Cam’s ring was too tight.

Cam lives in Sydney Australia so I didn’t get to personally fit his ring. I converted the Australian ring size and made his ring hoping it would fit perfectly. Being cautious, I carried my tools with me. Luckily no adjustments were needed.

When we arrived at the venue, Kelly was outside taking photos. She immediately wanted photos with us. I saw that she was wearing the bar pendant Cam bought her just before they became engaged. I was wearing the same pendant since it’s one I wear frequently.

As a jewelry designer, it’s great seeing my work being worn and loved.

Reach out if you would like me to make you a rectangular bar pendant like the one Kelly and I are wearing. I make the pendant to order with a white sapphire.

I admit it. I needed to take a photo of where I parked my car in Washington, DC.

I took a day off on Monday to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I highly recommend visiting this impactful museum.

Today, I’m back in my studio delivering a special order to my client and working on other orders.

This time of year, I truly feel like your jewelry fairy godmother helping my clients fulfill their loved one’s wish list.
