Abracadabra is a family owned custom jewelry boutique located in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan since 1974!

We specialize in on-site custom jewelry design, repairs and appraisals. Since 1974 we have committed to carrying jewelry made from recycled metals, purchased at a local Ann Arbor refiner, along with conflict free diamonds and ethically mined colored gemstones. We feature many local artists' work along with many exclusive national designers and of course our very own custom Abra designs. We love working one on one with our clients to create a perfect piece of jewelry for the occasion. Abracadabra is a proud member of the Michigan Retailers Association, as well as Jewelers of America and the Jewelers Board of Trade.

This gorgeous ring — another Abra crew estate case favorite — has a secret: the outside of the ring is white gold and the inside is yellow gold! Not only is it a cool aspect of the ring, it was chosen so that this ring can be worn by those who have an allergy to the nickel that is found in most white gold alloys. If you have metal allergies, there are many options that exist for you to still get the jewelry of your dreams!

We were honored when Madi and Katie came to us to create their custom engagement rings together! Read their story below:

“After Madi proposed to Katie in September 2025, we came the same day to Abra with a tall order for our wedding rings and uncertainty around what we wanted and needed. What we left with were two custom CAD-designed rings (the yellow gold one here, which Katie proposed with in December), two restored heirloom rings from our late grandparents (the white gold one here), and a whole lot of gratitude for their attention, care, and kindness. Andie and the Abra crew have been amazing throughout the entire process, and we couldn't have asked for a better team of jewelers to handle such an important part of our story.”

Some of our crew’s favorite pieces come from our estate case where we sell beautiful pre-loved pieces on behalf of private clients. This gorgeous ring is a stunner all around, with a lovely Montana sapphire center and tiny diamond side stones, all encased in yellow gold. It’s the second and last day of our Lika Behar Collection Trunk Show! If you haven’t made it in yet to see these pieces in person, we really hope you do. We’re thrilled to have added Lika and her work as our newest artist at Abracadabra and loved the opportunity to showcase her work in the trunk show.

It’s October, and there are two gorgeous stones that stand proudly as this month’s birthstone!

First is opal, October’s traditional birthstone. Opals are made of up to 20% trapped water and have a unique optical phenomenon that results in the beautiful play-of-color for which these stones are known and loved.

The second is tourmaline, October’s modern alternative birthstone. Tourmalines come in everything from beautiful berry pinks to intense greens to tropical teals!

We have a great selection of both opals and tourmalines in stock, at a variety of price points, both in finished jewelry and loose stones waiting for your custom project!
