Good morning, Bloomers 🌸,
It is an Election Day! I hope you will vote if you have not yet done so. I voted on 10/30 and decided that I would vote for my reality.
Whoever you are going to vote for today, please make it about you. I made it about my children and the generations to come. I made it about my consciousness, my spirituality, my beliefs, my desire for peace, my hope for progress, my life as a mother, black woman, immigrant, Muslim, and everything dear to me.
I cast my vote in respect, gratitude, honor, and privilege because people before me who looked like me were never allowed to vote.
This election might not make my life any better than it was four years ago, but it could make my life worse than it was four years ago.
I refuse to have any anxiety about it because no matter how the results turn out, as long as I understand that my vote was about me, the collective of the things and people who are important, then all that is left is to accept the results because it will provide us all a clear indication of who we are as a people.
