Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Our studio will be closed until April 15th to encourage social distancing at the direction of the Mayor of Atlanta.
I hope you can use this time to deepen your practice. These are the times where we need it the most! This could mean asana, pranayama or study of the sutras. And we all have other tools that help us, like connecting virtually with friends or being outside in the fresh air and sunlight- even if it’s in our own back yards. And be in gratitude for tools like Zoom etc. where we can talk and see each other.
I am in the process of learning how to live stream classes over Zoom. We are all being challenged in our own ways! I will start with the following classes:

In the meantime, I would like to share with you sequences of classes I have taken in Pune. Some of these sequences come from my notes after class and others were transcribed from audio recordings. I am looking forward to listening to Geetaji’s voice from various years past and hope you will also find it nourishing and inspirational. I will let you know when I can which sequences were transcribed and which were written down after class.

Sitting Ascend from the lower belly to the heart. Descend the brain to the heart.
Make the L. and R. brain even.
Tadasana Open back of legs. Femurs/shins back
Trikonasana
Parsvakonasana Rest right side down as if laying on a bed. Keep R. thigh soft to rotate. Don’t harden thigh.
Uttanasana Toes touching. Heels apart. Spin inner legs, separate buttocks and feel entire legs open.
Parivritta Trikonasana Rotate inner organs away from the spine. Soften whole L. side. Kidney away from spine. Outer front leg and inner back leg strong. Use thumb on the floor to soften L. side of spine.
Prasarita Padottanasana Buttock bones apart. Take hands back. Open back of legs fully.
Uttanasana Toes touching.
Full arm balance x2
Ado Mukha Svanasana x2
Uttanasana
Sirsasana Legs apart, toes together, helps the turn.
Parsva
2.x ankles together but keep rotation in pelvis.
Eka Pada Sirsasana
Ropes On simhasana bench. Ropes as per hanging headstand. Knees to wall. Arms overhead towards bench. Rope on sacrum. 5x up and down.
Chair Viparita Dandasana Hold top of chair to adjust back. Hold legs of chair. Arms over, palms facing up. Then hands like Sirsasana.
Rope drop backs x5 (bottom rope on sacrum.) Hands on hips as needed/or over.
Kapotasana x3 Feet on rings, knees to wall, top rope doubled, bend elbows.
Chair Viparita Dandasana
Eka Pada Rope around foot. Hold end of rope behind head like Sirsasana. Head on floor. Legs straight
Marichyasana 3 2 blankets. Foot at wall, Same action as Parivritta Trikonasana.
Chair Bhairavasana Look up. Bring L. eye around to see where the blockages are.
Forward Folds:
Sit to the back of chair. Go into Chair bend forward.
Ardha Halasana on chair
Karnapidasana (Metatarsals resting on chair to ease the back.)
