This has honestly been a little bit of an antiquing life crisis for meโฆ ๐๐ค
Trying to figure out how to antique over white paint without losing that bright white has been such a struggle.
So I decided to do a little experiment. ๐
I painted one side of the feather white and put Resolene over it. On the other side, I painted it white and put Pro Resist over it. Once everything was dry, I covered the whole feather with my antique paste.
And the results?! ๐
THE PRO RESIST SIDE STAYED WHITE! ๐๐ผ๐ค
Iโm honestly SO excited to finally figure this out. ๐ This has been one of those little things that Iโve been trying to figure out for what feels like forever!
Iโm so thankful for every video Iโve watched from other leatherworkers showing this part of the process, and for everyone who has shared their tips in the comments. Iโve learned so much from watching other people experiment and share what works for them. ๐ค
Iโll be doing another video soon where I go through this process a little more clearly, but I had to post this one because I was way too excited not to share. ๐
