It’s starting to feel real! 🤠🎨 I’m so excited to be in the Austin Studio Tour again this year and to have my work displayed at TWO incredible locations!

📍 Location 111 — ArtHUB ATX
📍 Location 140 — Art84 Gallery

You can find both locations in your Austin Studio Tour guidebook! If I’m lucky, I may be including a 3rd- TBD!

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my work alongside so many talented artists and to be part of such an amazing creative community here in Austin. A huge thank you to Almost Real Things for hosting and making this all possible! ❤️

This has been a year of growth, new paintings, and big changes in my art practice, and I can’t wait to share more of what I’ve been working on with you all. There’s something special about seeing these pieces find their place in the world and getting to connect with the people who love Western art, horses, and cowgirl culture as much as I do.

Mark your calendars, grab your guidebooks, and come explore the tour! I’d love to see you out there! 🐎✨

Also, don’t forget the Austin Studio Tour Kickoff Party at Almost Real Things Gallery CANOPY Nov 6th, 6:30-10pm! See y’all there! 🤠

💃🏻 SAVE ME A DANCE 💃🏻

I’m so excited to be part of “Save Me a Dance,” an upcoming group exhibition with Art84 at Cannon Coffee celebrating the energy, romance, movement, and culture of dance through the eyes of local artists.

I’ll be bringing two of my country dancing paintings to the show — pieces inspired by the atmosphere of Texas dancehalls, the music, the movement, and those unforgettable nights spent dancing until the band plays its last song. 🤠🎶

Come out, enjoy some art, grab a drink, and maybe even save me a dance. 💃🏻🕺🏻

📍 Cannon Coffee
📅 Opening: Sunday, October 4
✨ Featuring work from multiple artists inspired by dance

I’d love to see you there!

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

This Labor Day, I’m feeling especially grateful for the opportunity to spend this past weekend doing what I love — creating art, meeting wonderful people, and building a life around something I’m truly passionate about. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by my booth at this past weekend’s Redbud Artisan Market!

Whether you came by to say hello, asked me about my paintings, shared a story, followed along with my work, or took a little piece of my art home with you — it truly means more than you know. Every conversation and every purchase helps support this dream of mine, and I’m incredibly grateful. 🤎

And a very special thank you to Kathy Hill from Redbud Artisan Market for continuing to include me in these markets and creating such a wonderful space for local artists and makers. I’m so thankful to be part of it!

I also loved getting to spend the weekend alongside so many talented vendors. One of my favorite parts of these markets is the community that comes with them — getting to know fellow artists, makers, small business owners, and all the hardworking people behind the booths. 🫶

Here’s to celebrating the work, creativity, grit, and small-business dreams that keep us all moving forward.

Happy Labor Day, y’all! 🇺🇸🤠

Some horses are more than horses. Kid Mac was one of those horses.

He was 24 years old when I laid him to rest today. From 2008 to 2018, he was my barrel horse, my partner, and the one I trusted to take me into the arena and give me everything he had. And he always did. He never asked for much in return. Just a job, a little trust, and the chance to run fast and be my partner.

We got Kid in 2005 for just $600 after he had spent the first 2 yrs of his life on pasture, forgotten with a bunch of cows. We sent him to Gil Stoner out in Uvalde, TX for 7 months of training and he came back one of the best horses we ever had. My mom gave him to me in 2008, that’s when I began racing him. In 2012, he was brutally attacked by bees and took a year off, but came back in 2013 stronger than ever. In 2015 he even qualified for the NBHA World Championship. He raced for 3 more years after that before we decided to retire him. Sadly, arthritis and the pain made his barrel racing days a thing of the past, and in the last couple years even walking became difficult. Today, I had to love him enough to let him go.

There is no easy way to bury a horse who carried so many pieces of your life, but there is something I want to remember, too. I am not just an artist who paints cowgirls and horses.

I am a cowgirl.

I have lived the miles I paint. I’ve sat in the saddle. I’ve raced. I’ve worked with horses. I’ve known the thrill of a good run and the heartbreak of saying goodbye. I’ve felt the bond that exists between a horse and the person who asks him to give everything.

Kid gave me that. He gave me ten years in the arena and a lifetime of memories.

So when you see a horse in my art, know that I’m not painting something I simply admire from a distance.
I’m painting a life I’ve been lucky enough to live. Touched by these angels on 4 legs that have taught me both grit and grace.

Today, I’m painting with a little more heartbreak in my heart. I saved a small piece of him to carry with me always.

Run free, Kid. 🐎
You gave me everything.
I hope I gave you enough in return. 🤎🕊️

This past Saturday I attended the sunset valley ARTFEST! It was a wonderful experience despite the heat and humidity, but it’s always amazing to meet other artists/vendors from around the state and the people who come to see them. I sold 2 of my small paintings, 2 large paintings, one ornament and several prints, making this one of my most successful and profitable markets! Thank you to those who came to visit me and those of you who have purchased/will be purchasing work!

Don’t forget: I’ll be at the Redbud Artisan Market in Fredericksburg with more new paintings! The market runs Saturday 10-5, and Sunday 10-4! Come see me!
