Another gorgeous day is in store!

Today I’m making two rings that will be special mementos for two ladies as a reminder of their breastfeeding journey.

I’m just creating the metalsmithing today, prepping them for the “gems” I’ll be creating in the next several days made of each lady’s dehydrated breast milk and each child’s birthstone in stone chip form. I realize this type of jewelry does not appeal to everyone, but I get lots of requests from women to create these. I’m happy to help create something so unique and special for them!

I will also complete the yooperlite pendants by Thursday that I started a few days ago. Need to fabricate the settings on each.

Also have a quick appointment at the store to attach the custom “faith” charm I created yesterday 💙

Here I am hammering a bezel into shape after soldering it. The client wants an oval shape for her ring. It is going to be beautiful!

Used the xTool F2 Ultra Dual Laser to engrave this special charm for her permanent bracelet.

Just received a few supplies…

Here’s what $1200 in fine & sterling silver looks like. Not a whole lot!

This is one reason why I don’t sell $25 earrings and $50 rings. Materials are not cheap, at least not quality materials. Neither are tools, machines, packaging, booth rent, event fees, experience, etc that are all factored into pricing. Nor do I work for free 💚

As I look back on my Facebook memories from today, I’m reminded of so many cool things that I’ve had the chance to experience. Triathlons, a Stevie Nicks concert, snorkeling the Silfra Fissure in Iceland, and also the pleasure to have hopefully given someone a second chance at life. Three years ago today I donated my left kidney at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to an awaiting recipient at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina. My left kidney traveled aboard the Gift of Life flight to NC. I was part of a 14 person nationwide chain of mismatched kidney donors/recipients. My intended recipient received her kidney a week before I donated mine on her behalf 💚
