This Bonnie Rait song was our favorite and absolutely captured our relationship… I was recently divorced and I always bought all my plants at EASTLAND FARMS… one afternoon I decided to add some pink Fairy Roses to my garden, and there was Pete sitting in his golf cart with that little smile… I hopped in next to him and we headed over to the roses. Pete was absolutely in his prime when I first knew him. He knew the Latin name of all the plants 🪴 rode a big blue Harley 🏍️ and had that captivating way about him in his cowboy hat, battered jeans and sleeveless T-shirt… tanned, funny and surrounded by all the top models and gorgeous young things in the Hamptons, he seemed mostly unaware of his allure, which I found utterly charming… one afternoon I said something slightly provocative to him, and he immediately flipped my cart of flowers over 😂 I was immediately smitten and decided right then in there that I would make a point of getting to know him better… my darling Pete, you are the love of my life, my biggest champion and my constant North Star. I miss you every day and feel blessed God brought us together and gave us more than 20 years together. Happy birthday, my precious. I love you dearly…
