In the latest chapter of “what can I try next?”- it’s lost wax jewelry!
About two weeks ago, I remembered I had some wax supplies on hand which I’ve held on to for years.

I built these charms and rings from a combination of wax, carving, adding and subtracting and feeling my way until I felt they were *ready*

I am inspired by Gaby Moss Designs, who has such a great talent for beautiful, handmade jewelry - and watching her process videos is truly inspiring, so I gave it a shot.

I then took the finished wax to Frank Billanti Casting Company, and Kathy was more than helpful to help me get my first round back in my hands in 24 hours!

A tiny cross + an inital, and you have instant layering options.

Cast cross charm made from a handmade mold.

The letter charm starts as a blank form. From there I sculpt each Armenian initial by hand before adding the color and gold.

A slow but enjoyable process.

These started as actual oyster shells — cut, sanded, gilded, then hand-painted with resin. No two are the same. Limited selection for now - and comes on a chain.
