Jeanna likes to stir up good trouble and sent this my way this morning.

I know there is a decent overlap with readers and crafters…I feel like we need to show YarnNerds some love, grab a skein or two of yarn and start a book club KAL…who’s in?

A big thank you to The Yarn Garden and their team for creating a wonderful event at Spring Maker Fest yesterday. It was a joy to see so many friends, and to connect with our shared history of crafting as we talked about “The Grandmas” as you worked through the scavenger hunt. Our hearts are over flowing.

Thank you to for your purchases big and small that allow us to continue to support our shepherd, the mill, and the dyers who work with us to bring our yarn to market…and apparently I need to get back into the sewing room because our bag collection is getting SLIM!

Please share your photos of all you create so we can continue to inspire each other. ❤️❤️❤️

I hear there’s a storm at home, which makes me even happier to be here at the Eaton County Fairgrounds for the Spring Makers Fest!

Join us before Jeanna and I buy all of the prettiest yarn from our neighbors!

Excited to share a new color of Welcome Home, wool shoe insole, some tumbled rock buttons, and a few new styles of yarn from our new mill partner!

The bones of the booth are in place, we’ll add signage and samples in the morning…but we are VERY excited to show off some new yarn, samples and kits!

We have a limited amount of these Nordic Bloom Vest kits available, and they include flower buttons!! Don’t sleep on these.

Also new are the squishiest (is that an actual real word?) felted wool insoles you ever did feel.

We love this one day festival, and it is filled with talented fiber folk.

Hope to see you tomorrow in Charlotte!

I’ve read about snow washing for years, but have never tried it.

I’m at a retreat this weekend, and decided to intentionally overpack to take care of a chore I’ve been putting off for awhile. The snow cooperated yesterday, and we expect more today, so I’ll be going home with a carload full of clean laundry!

Many years ago I bought some buttons made from small rocks. I put them on my Huron River cowl that is often on display in my booth at events and I get asked about them regularly.

This summer I set off on a mission to try to recreate them, and I am almost ready to add shanks to these beauties!

I’ll have a few ready to go at Sandhill Crane Vineyards December 6-7 at their holiday show.

If you’re looking for handmade gifts, or a place to hang out and knit with friends, or just want to peep some new buttons? Join us! We will be looking for friends and eager to talk all things holiday knitting with you❤️

And if you’re joining us? ask me about my Christmas Kep…I’m besotted with that too.

It’s been a hectic week for Team MBC.

You may have heard that Stonehedge Fiber mill was up for sale this year. We had hoped that being in line for processing since late 2023 would have helped us have yarn in hand by now, but alas, we still have no yarn from the 2024 and 2025 clips.

The new owner has not yet been able to commit to processing wool for others, leaving us in a bit of a pickle. We had 200 lbs of raw fleece awaiting processing in East Jordan and anticipate another 100 lbs this spring.

We were given a hot tip about a mill that has low wait times right now, so made a trip north to get the wool, and today dropped it at the new mill. We are hopeful that we will have actual YARN in hand by early 2026. 😍

A friend joined me on Friday and Joanie drove today and we now have a couple of long car days in the rear view mirror and all sorts of good things ahead. ❤️

Sometimes I forget just how beautiful Mary’s fleeces are, but I fell in love with them all over again today looking in the bags.

In addition to the wool, we have been practicing patience using our nephew’s rock tumbler. I had the brilliant idea to collect rocks this summer to create buttons. We are a few steps into the tumbling process and I could not be more in love with how these are already matching my vision.

So much to be thankful for this week. I hope you’re counting your blessings too, and would love for you to share all of the good things you’re surrounded with this season.

❤️❤️❤️
