Knot So Casual Handmade knotted satin cord jewelry that transforms casual materials into not-so-casual style. During the pandemic, I explored it again and couldn't stop.

I've always been a maker and had experimented with Chinese and Celtic knotting in the past. I find knotting very meditative and love combining button knots and snake knotting with inexpensive plastic, wood, and base metal beads and materials to create jewelry that's deceptively deluxe. I also use:

--Genuine semiprecious stones like sodalite, Amazonite, and onyx
--Stones I tumble myself, often from Michigan beaches (Lake Superior agates, quartz)
--Beads made of glass, bone, Lake Huron driftwood, acrylic, ceramic and more
--Vintage beads from old jewelry

Although I make some wire-strung necklaces, the majority are crafted with 2 mm satin cord, making them soft, light and comfortable to wear. I also make bracelets and earrings, available for sale at craft shows. I never make the same thing twice, so every KSC creation is one of a kind.

Posted this necklace a while ago when it was in progress, then decided I didn't like the square glass beads. The green and gold glass beads are funky enough to stand on their own with a little help from some Ethiopian brass beads. Made some matching earrings to go with it. Up on Etsy.

This came up in my FB memories today. Photo from the first KSC craft show 5 years ago (featuring my trusty helpers). It was in Pontiac. It's the best show KSC has ever had, sales-wise, even though we got stormed out after only two hours.
