Sometimes you’re exploring the world and you find a little more beauty than you expected. While we can’t take any credit for the water fall or rainbow, we will mention that Elichai designed and made this ring with a suite of Montana rainbow sapphires and a beautiful blue zircon a friend cut for him. If you really want to see Elichai's eyes light up and his creative juices flow, ask him to design a men's ring. I mean he loves designing, period. But he really loves designing anything for men: rings, bracelets, necklaces, cuffs, and objet d'art. My best guesses as to why this is are the slightly larger palettes, the bolder, bigger, statement gems, the outdoor themes, and more room for deeper, more dramatic hand engraving. Manliness adorned sparks a fire and creates joy for him. Who do you know that might be ready to upgrade their wedding band? We'd love a chance to win their business. Will you share this post? Our mission has been and will always be to create jewelry that satisfies, elates, and earns our client's highest esteem. It has never been to please the masses. It's simply not what Elichai was created to do. Please don't misunderstand, we could create gorgeous, mass produced designs, but our mission is much more specific and we hope, much more important.
At our core, we want every piece of jewelry we create to stand as a testimony of how much you matter. Not in a self important way, as to indulge in self aggrandizement, but in the unspoken way of how much light, joy, sacrifice, love, and positive impact your existence has on this earth.
We often get to hear the stories of your impact as we worked with your loved ones to create your jewel long before we ever meet you. We cherish these stories and are so honored to get to make them into jewelry.
Your value in the world is why Elichai works so intentionally to honor your desires, color preferences, styles, and to build jewelry that can be passed from generation to generation. The jewelry you choose to wear becomes part of the legacy you pass on.
These earrings were built to honor one of the most humble, hard working, kind, sacrificial, and supportive women we know. Elichai got to grow up knowing her and I met her 25 years ago as a young bride. You will never meet a woman who is less likely to shine the spotlight on her own accomplishments but always willing to show up. We love you EW and hope you love your earrings!

And here she is! The Colombian emerald suite “Tropical Sunshine.” Built from 3 large, ultra fine, top 2% of all emeralds in quality, clarity, and color intensity. Designed for elegance and favorable impressions these emeralds will leave you wanting more.
Our client commissioned this suite to celebrate his incredible wife.
When they were young and carving out their lives together, he had gotten sent to Colombia to close a deal for his company. He was successful in the business deal and very successful in an after-hours poker game. With his winnings he bought his wife an emerald to celebrate. Unfortunately, the emerald got stolen. He has continued to have success and credits his wife’s steadfast love as a huge contributing factor. Unbeknownst to us, he has always wanted to replace the stolen emerald.
So, when Elichai called to let him know of his Colombian emerald trip, he was excited to get a chance to finally replace the lost emerald. And Elichai, of course, was excited to find him some extraordinary emeralds.

After designing and gathering your gems there’s a beautiful moment in our process. It is metamorphosis. Just like when a caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly, your elements are transformed. By forging, firing, hammering, and polishing them they are transformed from common to extraordinary beauty.
We take your materials and transform them from raw metal, ingots, into beauty, strength, structure, and sentiment.
We take what has no meaning and create meaning.
Vision is the most critical element of this process because without vision your items won’t be transformed. Where in your world do you want to transform? What’s your vision? Maybe our process can inspire you to keep going, to keep pursuing beauty and meaning in your life. We sure hope you will.
The process of metamorphosis is so messy. When I was just a young jeweler’s wife, Elichai would proudly show me a piece that was in process and all I could see was a lump of cold, charred metal. I remember telling him, “I am so glad you know where you’re heading with that design, because I just can’t see it.”
He is the visionary. He understands the process of transformation, and I am so grateful he keeps seeing what lies ahead; past the rough, opaque, fire-scaled, ugly lumps of metal.

After your design session Elichai gets to work gathering the all the additional elements needed to execute your design. In this case, only brightest and most perfectly matched yellow diamonds will work.
He spends hours working with our diamond dealers to find the stones that will most perfectly compliment this design. They know that Elichai requires the best and they have learned over the years to send us their reserve gems. Not everyone gets trusted to see these stones. Elichai has done a great job finding the best sources in the industry and earning their trust.
Here is a sneak peek of what that stone selection process looks like. Each of these stones comes in its own envelope or ziplock.
Colored diamonds are rare and very valuable so every envelope is marked with its specific carat weight, measurement, grading, and color intensity. Each stone has a different value and each stone has a diamond dealer. It's very rare that we gather all the stones he needs from one diamond dealer. He must stay focused to keep all these stones organized and in the right packages after he’s done inspecting and considering them for his upcoming masterpiece. In order to be selected for a design a stone must meet Elichai's rigorous standards and if they aren't chosen, they get sent back.
These moments of contemplation are the difference between an average outcome and extraordinary one.

Over the years, our clients have taught us some of what they value most about our jewelry creating process. Here are some quick observations.
1) They love our one-on-one approach. They love arriving at their appointment and getting our undivided attention. These moments are so precious to the design process. They are often our first introduction to their dream or vision.
2) They love the collaborative design process. It’s a creative date and experience all its own. They arrive full of anticipation of arrival of their ideas on paper. It’s inspiring to watch Elichai draw their design in real time. He often grabs his sketchbook as they describe what they are hoping their new jewels will look, feel and express and starts to put pencil to their idea as they are talking. There is an ease in the banter as their ideas get parlayed across the table.
3) They love options! Some clients are happy with the very first design Elichai draws for them, and others want to see options: different colors, stones, shapes, sizes, patterns. They love the opportunity to make changes as the design develops on the page. They love how responsive Elichia’s design process it. They love it when Elichai gets a bonus inspiration and adds a detail to make their jewelry even more special.

Twenty-five years ago, we were just two kids dreaming. The dream was simple: build world-class jewelry in a way that allowed us to raise our family in the place we love. Our children are now young men pioneering their own paths and we are trekking forward with another dimension of our dream: to travel the world to acquire gems at their source. In other words, becoming your gemstone concierge.
Our most recent journey to Colombia, S.A. was a big step on that path. We got to wander the path of our family’s story, (Elichai’s dad was born and raised in Colombia), and we also got to learn about sourcing emeralds and meet many incredible people in the gem industry. For almost an entire week Elichai met miners, gemologists, gem cutters, investors, and gem dealers from all over the world in the Emerald Trade Center in Bogota, Colombia.
While he is already a Graduate Gemologist and has spent hundreds of hours honing his gem skills there is simply nothing that compares to sitting at the tables of the emerald masters. He got a advanced course in emerald selection and valuation.
We had a short list of clients that asked us to find them the best emeralds for their projects. And we hope, as we continue to show you our emeralds and our client’s projects, you will be inspired to add your name to our list for our next gem trip!
