GOOD MORNING! 💎☀️
First and foremost, I want to say THANK YOU to all my clients, supporters, and everybody who has supported Diño’s Grillz And Jewelry over the years. I appreciate every single person who has done business with me, shared my work, referred a customer, or supported the brand in any way.
I’ve been doing this for almost 5 YEARS, and there’s a lot of stuff I see on the Internet regarding jewelers and the jewelry industry that I honestly dislike. So today, I want to speak on something real quick.
💎 LET’S TALK ABOUT JEWELRY, QUALITY, BUDGETS, AND THE TRUTH ABOUT BEING A JEWELER.
When I first started my business, my original plan was to sell high-end materials, PERIOD.
I never planned on selling gold-plated jewelry.
I never planned on selling moissanite.
I wanted to focus on high-ticket jewelry and expensive pieces.
But I had a friend ask me a question along the lines of, “Why would you sell certain products if people are going to bash you for selling them?”
And that made me look at business differently.
LET ME EXPLAIN SOMETHING ABOUT WHERE I’M FROM: BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA.
If I only focused on selling $30,000 grills, $15,000 pendants, and other high-ticket jewelry, I would miss out on a huge portion of the market.
Everybody cannot afford a $30,000 grill. Everybody cannot afford a $15,000 pendant. And everybody is not walking through the door ready to spend thousands of dollars on jewelry in one transaction.
Some customers want solid gold. Some want silver. Some want gold-plated jewelry. Some want moissanite. Others want natural diamonds with specific clarity grades.
Some people prioritize quality above everything else. Other people prioritize their budget, appearance, and getting the look they want for the money they have available.
And guess what? EVERY CUSTOMER IS DIFFERENT.
Trust me, if I could sell $30,000 grills all day long, I would gladly do it! 😂💎 But as a business owner, I have to understand my market.
So I have a choice: Do I refuse to make a sale because a customer cannot afford the particular product I originally wanted to sell, or do I offer that customer an option that fits their budget while being HONEST about exactly what they are purchasing?
I choose to educate the customer, explain the materials, be transparent about the quality, and let them decide what works best for them.
Now, let’s talk about people accusing jewelers of selling fake products.
Before you bash a jewelry company, ask yourself a few questions:
Do you understand the difference between solid gold and gold-plated jewelry?
Do you understand the difference between gold karats?
Do you understand the difference between moissanite and diamonds?
Do you understand diamond clarity grades like SI2, SI1, VS2, VS1, and VVS?
Do you understand what you’re actually paying for when you purchase jewelry?
Because there’s a BIG difference between a jeweler lying to a customer about what they’re buying and a jeweler selling different products at different price points.
SELLING DIFFERENT QUALITY LEVELS DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MEAN A BUSINESS IS SELLING FAKE JEWELRY. TRANSPARENCY IS WHAT MATTERS.
Let’s use a few examples.
🏠 REAL ESTATE: A realtor might help you purchase a $180,000 house, but that doesn’t mean they cannot help someone else purchase a $400,000 house.
🚘 THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY: A car dealership might sell a $12,000 vehicle and also have access to a $40,000 vehicle.
💎 THE JEWELRY INDUSTRY: A jewelry company might sell a $1,000 piece, a $3,000 piece, a $5,000 piece, a $7,500 piece, a $10,000 piece, a $15,000 piece, a $30,000 piece, a $50,000 piece, or even a $100,000 piece.
Does selling a $1,000 piece mean the jeweler cannot source a $30,000 piece?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
It means the company serves different customers with different budgets and different needs.
A business can have access to multiple manufacturers, suppliers, diamonds, precious metals, and custom jewelry options. The product you purchase today does not necessarily represent the full range of products that business can source.
YOUR BUDGET DETERMINES WHICH OPTIONS MAKE SENSE FOR YOU.
Think about credit scores. Someone with a 620 credit score may qualify for a different vehicle loan, interest rate, or selection of vehicles than someone with a 750 credit score, depending on their overall financial profile.
That doesn’t mean the dealership only sells cheap cars. It means the customer’s qualifications and circumstances can affect the options available to them.
The same concept applies to jewelry. Your budget, the materials you choose, the design, the diamond specifications, and the craftsmanship all play a role in what you can purchase.
Now, let me make something clear about DIÑO’S GRILLZ AND JEWELRY.
We can source different products and materials, including:
💎 Solid gold in different karats
💎 Sterling silver
💎 Gold-plated jewelry
💎 Moissanite
💎 Natural diamonds
💎 Different diamond clarity grades, including SI, VS, and VVS
💎 Custom grillz, pendants, chains, and other jewelry
We have connections that allow us to explore options based on what our customers want and what they can afford.
If you come to me with a $1,000 budget, I’m looking at what we can accomplish within that budget.
If you come to me with $5,000, I’m looking at different options.
If you come to me with $15,000, $30,000, or $50,000, we can discuss an entirely different range of possibilities.
I’M LOOKING AT YOUR BUDGET, YOUR VISION, AND WHAT WE CAN MAKE HAPPEN.
I’m not going to pretend a $1,000 budget automatically gets you the same materials, specifications, or craftsmanship as a $30,000 budget. That wouldn’t be honest, and that’s not how jewelry works.
But I’m also not going to tell you that you can’t shop with my company just because you don’t have $30,000 to spend.
That’s why we have different options.
My job is to help you understand those options, explain what you’re paying for, and help you make an informed decision.
And let me say this: I believe a business owner should put their customers first by making sure they are educated, treated fairly, and given honest information. That includes working with manufacturers, suppliers, team members, and business partners to deliver the product the customer actually ordered.
But customers also have a responsibility to educate themselves, understand their budgets, ask questions, and know what they are purchasing.
STOP EXPECTING EVERY BUSINESS TO OFFER YOU A HIGH-END PRODUCT AT A LOW-END PRICE.
And before you accuse a business of selling fake products, make sure you understand what that business is actually selling.
If a jeweler tells you that gold-plated jewelry is solid gold, that’s a problem.
If a jeweler tells you moissanite is a natural diamond, that’s a problem.
If a jeweler misrepresents the materials, diamond specifications, or quality of a product, that’s a problem.
But if a jeweler clearly explains what you’re buying, gives you options at different price points, and delivers what was represented to you, that’s a different conversation.
KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING MISLED AND SIMPLY NOT BEING ABLE TO AFFORD THE PRODUCT YOU WANT.
I’m not saying every jeweler is honest. I’m not saying every jewelry company is legitimate. And I’m definitely not saying customers shouldn’t ask questions or hold businesses accountable.
I’m saying we need to understand the difference.
As a business owner, I have to understand my customers, my market, my expenses, my suppliers, and the products I can provide. I have to make decisions that allow my company to grow while serving people at different price points.
That’s business.
So when you come to Diño’s Grillz And Jewelry, come with your vision, your budget, and a willingness to learn about what you’re purchasing. Ask questions. Compare materials. Understand the differences. Make sure everything is represented correctly.
We’re here to help you find the right option for YOU.
IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT WHAT THE JEWELER WANTS TO SELL. IT’S ALSO ABOUT WHAT THE CUSTOMER WANTS, WHAT THE CUSTOMER CAN AFFORD, AND WHAT THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS.
Almost five years in this industry has taught me that everybody wants to shine, but not everybody has the same budget, priorities, or knowledge of jewelry.
And that’s okay.
My goal is to keep educating customers, growing my company, expanding my connections, and providing jewelry options for different people and different budgets.
DON’T CONFUSE DIFFERENT PRICE POINTS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF HONESTY. KNOW WHAT YOU’RE BUYING, KNOW WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD, AND HOLD BUSINESSES ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT THEY ACTUALLY PROMISE.
This is business. This is jewelry. And this is a conversation the industry needs to have.
