UPDATE: I have been at the hospital with Thomas since October 7th. I never made it back to the shop after vacation. I am going home for the first time tonight. Last night we finally got transferred to RUSH in Chicago, which is where we have been trying to get to since we went to the ER. Thomas has been diagnosed with Hyper Catatonia, a very rare form of catatonia, his brain is going 100 miles per hour and causing him to think he is in danger and has to save himself, unfortunately because it is so rare, he had been mis diagnosed for over a year, which will make the treatment longer. (we are very lucky it didn't progress to malignant catatonia, as it usually fatal) We will be here at RUSH for a min of another week. If the first treatment doesn't work, we will have to go to the next treatment which could keep him in the hospital for a few months :( we will know more when they reevaluate Monday. I will try to get back home again next week to go through things at work. I am very thankful we met Dr. Vanderslice at RUSH in September or things could have been much worse. I will try to keep everyone updated on the shop. Sounds like another difficult year ahead
