The marquise is back, and honestly, it never left our hearts. 💎✨

A cut with a story:
Legend says the marquise was created in the 1700s for King Louis XV, who wanted a diamond shaped like the smile of the Marquise de Pompadour. It's also called the "navette," French for "little boat." 👑

Why we love it:
💍 Its long, slender shape makes fingers look longer and more elegant.
✨ It's one of the largest-looking shapes per carat, so you get more sparkle for your size.

The perfect mountain proposal ⛰️✨

This Edwardian treasure is a masterclass in early 1900s jewelry making. Here's what makes it so special:

💎 The Old European cut diamond
Before modern cutting machines, diamonds were cut by hand. They were shaped to glow in candlelight, with chunky facets, a high crown, and a tiny "window" at the bottom called the culet. This one is a warm 1.20 carat champagne-toned beauty.

⚪ Platinum over gold
Around the turn of the century, jewelers began topping gold with platinum. The bright white platinum made the diamonds look icier, while the gold backing added strength and warmth against the skin. It was cutting-edge technology in its day.

🌿 Handmade details
Delicate vines and leaves wrap around the center, each outlined in hand-applied milgrain and set with tiny hand-cut diamonds. Nature motifs like these were beloved in the Edwardian era.

Every ring was finished by hand before machines. For many techniques, we still do it that way ✨

Here’s what makes these pieces special:

🖋️ Hand engraving:
Using a sharp tool called a graver, our engraver carves each design into the metal by hand, cut by cut. No two rings are ever exactly alike.

⚪ Milgrain edging:
Those tiny beads along the edges are milgrain, from the French for “a thousand grains.” Each bead is pressed in with a special wheel, giving the edges a soft, antique texture that catches the light.

🌿 Hand ornamentation:
Leaf patterns, flowing scrollwork, and tiny flush-set sapphires peeking out of the band all add character.

When Trey & Remy came to us, they knew exactly what they wanted: a marquise center with something unexpected on the sides. 💍

We started with a stunning large marquise cut, then set a princess cut diamond on each side, turned on an angle. The result is a three-stone ring with real drama, all in warm yellow gold.

But the magic is in what you don't see. Every stone was positioned so the ring wraps around her finger naturally and feels comfortable to wear every day. That kind of fit takes technique, precision, and a lot of finesse. ✨
