In May, my friend’s girlfriend Emily asked me to make him a ring for his birthday. She’d fallen for Ophelia, my diamond-shaped signet. I didn’t need to ask why. Tom, a music theory professor who moonlights as DJ Dr. Tom dr. tom, had remixed Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia just for her. Swoon!

I reworked the original design: a thicker band and a wider signet face. Same shape, built for his hand. Of course I named this version Dr. Ophelia.

Co-conspiring with Emily to make something in secret for a friend was a joy and honor. The best part? I was at his birthday dinner when he opened it.

Things are a little quiet over here in my corner of the socials - and for good reason! We are lucky to have escaped the heat and smoke at home for a bit and I am absolutely relishing the clean air. As I mentioned in my last reel, taking time to be outdoors and stay off the phone is so important for my creativity and head space so I’ve not been fussed to post. I’m out here touching grass and slugs and big ass trees and feeling so incredibly grateful for this time. I hope you enjoy a lil adventure content sprinkled into the jewelry making!
