Strawberries for your ears anyone? Dreary days like this make me hopeful for the next things to start blooming.
Featuring imagery from The Pomona (1804–1812), an extraordinary botanical study of fruit grown in British royal gardens. Created by cabinet-maker turned artist George Brookshaw, each strawberry is rendered with such care it feels almost like a portrait of a fleeting summer moment.

You can find a few pairs of these on Saturday at the Herb Day market.

I’ve been sitting on these Victorian silhouette images for a couple of years now, hoarding them like a tiny jewelry goblin! So many of you have asked when I’d make this series again… today I started!

These silhouettes come from the work of Augustin Amant Constant Fidèle Édouart (1789–1861), a French artist who turned simple silhouette portraiture into something far more intimate. These are full scenes of families, elegant interiors, captured conversations, and moments of ordinary life preserved in shadow.

I love that these weren’t just decorative. They were records of real people, carefully labeled and remembered. But also something that you can imprint with the imaginings of your own ancestors and stories.

They feel a little haunting and deeply tender. I can almost hear the eerie laughter of Victorian children echoing from the attic now as a lone ball rolls down the hallway.

Scroll through to see some of the finished pieces from the original series.

Which silhouette scene would you choose for yourself—the elegant terrace, the quiet interior, the dancing figures, or one of the tiny portrait profiles? I’d love to know which one speaks to you most ✨

The ouroboros of modern artistry.

Make the object.
Film the object.
Post the object.
Hope for sales.
Repeat.

Creating in the tangible.
Surviving in the digital. Or something like that…

I can’t resist anything angelic, faery, or bird like with wings. 🪽
These images were originally issued as thin advertising inserts for William G. Hills’ “Orphan Boy” to***co brand, each card featured a woman adorned with the wings of a specific bird, Peacock, Flamingo, Halcyon, Pheasant… a curious marriage of Victorian marketing and mythic femininity.
I think these will be a series of four pairs of earrings, but the process of making will dictate the outcome…
Which one is your fave?

A little peek behind the scenes of a chilly pivot… my studio is too cold, the cats are cats too curious, but we keep moving forward.

Have you ever had to adapt like this? Those of you hit hard by the snow and sub zero temperatures this past week, how are you dealing with the piles of frozen snow and everything that comes with it?

Still despite all of these crazy hiccups these are not the worst problems to have. I’m shipping orders and working on new styles and the gratitude remains immense in my heart.
