If a gift certificate was used for the purchase, a gift certificate will be reissued. We Buy Gold and Platinum
We buy gold and platinum jewelry. With gold at record levels, it is an opportune time to turn unused jewelry into either cash or trade in for more contemporary jewelry. Our process is simple. We evaluate your jewelry based on the gram weight of the precious metal. We then offer you either payment or store credit. Please be aware that most gold jewelry is not 100% pure gold.
24 karat is 100% gold
18 karat is 75% gold
14 karat is 58.3% gold
10 karat is 41.7% gold
We will examine your jewelry for markings indicating the type of gold. We also have equipment to test your gold, should it be unmarked. Diamonds and precious stones are evaluated by our gemologists. If you have a diamond grading certificate, please bring it with you. Full Service Repair on Site
We offer on site, full service repair. For over 40 years, Geneve Jewelers has provided the highest quality jewelry repair. Sizing of rings is our most common repair by either increasing the size or reducing the size. We also offer nearly every other service in jewelry repair, from simple breaks in chains to complete rebuilding of jewelry. Custom Designing of Fine Jewelry
From drawing, to wax. to metal, sit down with one of our designers to create jewelry that is unique to you. Working from a drawings, an idea, or by modifying a sample in our store, we create a wax model of your design. At this stage, we can easily make changes and refine your custom design. Next, the wax is placed in a cylinder and filled with plaster. The cylinder is heated and the wax melts our, leaving a void in the shape of your design. This is where the term "lost wax" casting comes from. Your metal of choice is injected into the plast mold, where it hardens. The plaster is then disolved, revealing the jewelry design in metal. The stones are set and your custom jewelry design lives on for eternity! Appraisals
Our gemologists offer fine jewelry appraisal for insurance, estate, and fair market value purposes. We also offer a consulting service for those who have purchased their stones online and wish to verify that the stone they purchased matches the accompanying reports. We also offer a "Go through your treasure box" service. For an hourly fee of $60 we will inspect your box of goodies and help you discover what's real, what's not, and what warrants further appraisal. Our gemologists are also qualified to perform gem identification, diamond grading, and special consultations. Free Ring Cleaning & Inspections
Anytime you are shopping on Burlingame Avenue you're welcome to come in and have your jewelry cleaned in our powerful ultrasonic cleaners and inspected by our goldsmiths. Anytime, any day, as often as you'd like! Damaged Diamonds
We can recut and repair diamonds that are damaged. Bring in your diamonds and we will inspect them and try to repair the damage. Pearl Restringing
Most pearls are strung and knotted with silk. Due to its natural nature, this cording does tend to degenerate over time, breaking, fraying, and getting dirty. We restring these on fresh silk, knotting between each so they don't rub as well as reducing the risk of loosing a pearl if the strand breaks. Engraving
We engrave the inside of rings, lockets, charms, signets, and most flat items. We access hand engravers to create that special masterpiece as well.
