10/03/2016
I want to thank you to all those who came out this past weekend to help make this 2016 Stronghold a qualified success. There were many happy faces that I have not seen in quite a while this weekend and it was so very heartwarming to see you. 10 years ago at Stronghold the Attic started out in a small tent that we bought from A Knight to Remember - Carlo Tuzzio. It was just enough to contain our meager few products. In that time we have bought a massive pavilion and filled it with enough product that the scope of it cannot be contained in that same pavilion at ANY show. That noble canvas (which is now drying thanks to some last minute misting during breakdown last night) has housed and protected not only a large number of patrons of our product but some of the best people we could hoped to share the space with and given of themselves selflessly. Isle Thain Somerled, Jennifer Hanson Katzenberger, Kristen Glonek, Courtney Ladd, Suzanne Richardson, Bob Matthews, Mitchell Showers, MaryKate Showers, Steve Schroeder, Michael Katzenberger, Beth Gehris, Mieux Williamsen, Greg Marchand, Becky Marchand, Jon Schleifer, Tammy Schleifer, Quinn Martinez, Charles Braden, Anita Karban-Neef,(My apologies if your name was left off this list, my memory isn't what it used to be.)
The Stronghold Faire has seen some decline in the last 5 years but as of last year new changes have breathed new life into this event. The changes from last year to this year has brought a significant increase in vendors, some new stage acts, and continuing the shuttle run of previous years which allow patrons from the downtown Autumn Fall Fest in Oregon, IL to attend Stronghold and vise-versa. Parking was filled to the overflow lot BOTH days. To everyone who has felt it has been better to move on to 'greener pastures', please re-consider this faire. Thank you all, again. We now return you to your day and we have to go dry out canvas and make more stock.
