The 2-year bench experiment that pushed past the textbook limits.

🛠️🔥Traditional metalsmithing manuals categorize soldered-wire mokume as a minor technique with "limited" pattern options, traditionally restricted to small decorative accent borders. They advise keeping the wire inlaid inside a carved groove because the small line-contact joints can't handle heavy structural forming without separating.
I spent two years of intense testing at Haywood Community College moving past those boundaries. I engineered my way through the failures to unlock a whole standalone canvas of flawless geometric cell patterns, self-venting multi-wire matrices, and a signature Thermal Lock press-freeze patina process.I just published the raw, 4-step chronological history of my bench breakthroughs.

What fascinates me most is the process: experimenting with different metal combinations, developing new patterns, and turning raw materials into one-of-a-kind wearable art.
