OK folks. Mr. Mockingbird is still on his rant. I think the last time I shared this was maybe a couple weeks ago. Now it's Dawn with the sun up and he is still at it. I put my phone by the sunscreen in the bedroom so it's not exactly scenic..

The first time I met person from Alabama was 6 hours after landing at my basic training base at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. They had us lined up for our necessary hygiene kits. There was a while guy in front of me and a black man in front of him. When the black man came to the head of the line the Rednick in front of me yelled "You can't serve this Ni**er in front of me! "
Maybe you' better take note. I did!

I'm sure some of you think this was juiced up by video editing but no!! Black clouds on my walk in my favorite place in the desert. This is what I saw.
So often in sundown situations the clouds move north and the sun peaks out at the last minute and this is what we see!
It has to do with thermal changes and is common here.

I went up to Mesquite Canyon in the McDowel Mountains today. Good workout! Beats a treadmill! 99 degrees at my house, but 93 degrees up there. Beautiful outing and only 25 minutes from our house.

“Once upon a time, gem cutting was a strict craft bound by centuries of tradition. The job of a lapidary was to cut a gemstone to ideal proportions while preserving as many carats as possible. Then Bernd Munsteiner (b. 1943) invented the fantasy cut (concave cuts made on the back of gemstones).

Munsteiner freely sliced away carats on the backs of gemstones to create spectacular lightshows on their fronts. The only ideal proportion he acknowledged was the one that
freed the natural beauty he saw hiding in the stone.”(GIA article)

So I’m at the Tucson Gem Show in the early 90’s and find a display with some of Mr. Munsteiner’s beautiful gems and I’m all excited and showing my wife Jane and I hear behind me, “Hi! (German accent) I’m Bernd. What’s your name?”
Then he immediately started hitting on my wife with a Devilish smile! He loves having fun.
Great guy!
I’ll post some more of his stones.

This ring is a piece of art don’t you think?
Paraiba Tourmaline. Very rare from Brazil. I’m guessing it’s over $100,000.
